Post Match Presser and Sylvie
By: Corey | August 8th, 2007Schuster gave a press conference on the loss to PSV. He said the team is behind in preseason so they lost but overall he is happy. He discussed Guti’s contribution “We return contentments to Madrid”. In addition, Bernd Schuster, on the contribution of Guti to the attack game, affirmed that “in offensive game, to have a player as Guti is important, because it unbalances and it gives you happen of goal. For that he is with us. But we do not depend only on him, because we make good movements and the rest requests the ball well. In the first part the dominion has not been so clear, because the party was more open, more disputed. Little by little, the equipment must leave with force at important moments. Now still we are proving many things”. Sorry but Google translator is a little shotty, anyways, he also had some kind words for the young bucks Gago and De La Red “
-On the presence in the eleven to title of Rubén of Red and Fernando Gago, the German was satisfied: “he wanted to see together both. They are two players by far crossed and much soccer, and we knew that they could defend and play together. We wanted mobility by that part. Fernando has arrived at the group does few days, and must begin to enter. He interests to see to me both and looking for pairs of the field in center. Diarrá and Guti have been very well, and also Gago. They are tests that we are letting to see things, to analyze and to know how to have options that work when it really begins”. Positive talk from a guy who lost to Hannover and PSV. But then again he has not had much time to do what he wants with the team, which i truely believe is play more attractive football.
Thats the goal I guess, although winning titles is fairly important too. If no one notices by now my favorite player is Guti, so no matter what he is awesomeness. Here is Saviola’s goal, I couldnt find a more extensive highlights clip:
Rafeal Van der Vaart is high on the Schush mans list and thats good, he is probably my fav of all the possible targets. Not gonna lie I have been waiting to put pictures of his wife up. Hopefully Rafeal comes so she can grace the Bernabeau with her presence. And his wife is beautiful, here is an ode to Sylvie:

Gago and De La Red together in the center? Interesting, but I’m not buying it on the defensive spec. Especially because with Schuster’s new style of “Fancy Football” (did I just coin that? Or has someone beat me to it?) we’re going to spend a majority of the season chasing down counter attacks. De La Red has yet to prove himself in this skill, but I give Gago a C- when he’s trying, which usually he isn’t.
There are still lot’s of gaps in this team, not to mention the big yawning one that is the entire left side of the pitch. Robinho and Torres do well, but they’re both right footed, playing out of position.
I am totally with you about Guti and I’m really excited to see him play the role he’s best suited to play: inside central playmaker. But as I’ve mentioned before (as has pretty much everyone else, ever), beware of the hot/cold, sometimes a genius, sometimes not there at all inconsistancy that is Guti H. Maybe that will change with the new style of play. Maybe Madrid will keep a coach for more than one season. Maybe Atletico does stand a chance against us this season. And maybe a large, winged porker is sitting on my shoulder, right this instant.
Seriously, I can’t believe that you told that nasty Atleti that his team has our’s beat. Shame on you. Let’s knock off all this nice stuff; talking shit about Barca and Atletico is half of what being a Madrid commentater is all about. They certainly won’t pull any punches. Isaiah. You smarmy sod.
Lastly, what are your thoughts on Cicinho? I’ve been a big supporter of his in the past, and think he might make for an interesting right wing (if we keep him). Let me know what you think, and thanks again for opening up the Madrid page!

Well John, you are my favorite poster as of now because every piece of what you said is true. Cicinho I have discussed on the Roma blog so much that im tired of it. ill put it this way, either he mans up and stay or he goes and i dont shed a tear. Chris at ROma really wants him so i think we should give him an early christmas present.
De La Red has yet to prove himself, he is more like guti but without alot of the flair and vision, yet. I trust in De La Red, i trust in all the youth team players. Gago is not a ball winner per say, but he can adapt. but thats why we have Djila and Puma. Center midfield is fine as far as im concerned, adding a ballack, kallstrom or lucho gonzalez is not needed in my opinion.
As for Atleti, im sorry, deep down i can not be a bastard to barca and atleti. they both have competitive teams, and even though they may beat us in the season opener they wont finish above us and the second derby should be ours. Our team is yet again going through a transition and things take time to bed down. I trust in Schuster for now though, so no worries, we have a legitmate chance at the title along with barca, sevilla and valencia, but i suspect sevilla will fall back abit and valencia will be more of a force.keep the posts coming, excellent stuff

Someone needs to rescue VdV from the abyss that is Hamburg. He’d do well in Spain, and if they get him, maybe they can lay off of Sneijder and Kallstrom.

Well Inara, as we both know, Kallstrom needs to stay in Lyon, he is more suited for them then Madrid. So VdV would be my preference, but they are different players so I really dont know how these rumors will pan out.
