Ive Got A Fever and the Only Prescription Is More Cowbell

“I put my pants on one leg at a time, then I make gold records”

You wanted it so you got it, more cowbell. If your good boys and girls you may get some Celebrity Jeoprady. Not much besides transfer news and training pics today, so lets get right into that.

Training

Drenthe and Sneijder took part in their first training session, for what will be the upcoming match against Real Betis in the Ramon de Caranza Trophy. Last year the two teams drew 3-3 , then lost to Villareal 1-0 and finished in last place in the cup, so lets hope for a better result this year. Schuster has his boys doing this new fad, Jogging, I dont know if its with a soft or hard J. Sounds fun.

A big thank you to Inara for showing me how to align pictures, much cleaner look.

The Grapevine

I think we need some music for the Grapevine today, but no Marvin, lets do something more recent.

No video, so just hit play and enjoy why you read these tasty morsels straight out of the oven.

- Cassano is officially at Samp, the RM website confirms, but its pretty slow and we here at the Offside knew this was gonna happen a year ago when Cassanno “praised” Capello in front of a camera with Mamadou Djila. No one ever said he was a smart lad.

- Mijatovic “Emerson?” (Not starting out well, the question mark and all)[sic] “He is contracted to us for two more years, he is a great player and blah blah blah, If he stays in Madrid it will be a good solution…”. Who wants to write Emersons obituary right now? And in other news, who wants a Russian Hay Ride, I do I do.

- http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=52153 I personally am glad to see this, because I like Balboa, he has potential that should be nurtured and Schuster looks like he is more then ready to give him a shot.

- Real Betis are eyeing Roberot Soldier on loan for the season. Now this is enfuriating, because he just signed a new deal and said he wants to compete for a spot, well this isnt competing for anything, because we all know Betis is balls and desperately need someone to complement Rafeal Sobis (who is a top prospect of mine). Lets cross are fingers this doesnt pan out, otherwise we march down to Madrid. My temper with Mijatovic right meow is about meh, and if it gets to right about meh ill flip shit.

- http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=52159 Ok, so two of my favorite three youth team players now play for Atletico, one for Osasuna, and the fourth may got to Betis on loan. My temper with Mijatovic is above meh, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING YOU DUMB FUCKING NUTTER???? JAVI GARCIA IS A FUTURE INTERNATIONAL, AND YOU SEND HIM TO ATLETICO, STRENGTHING A DIRECT RIVAL AND SHOOTING OURSELVES IN THE FOOT?. I like Javi Garcia, he has a calm demeanor and plays the ball well. No space for him this year this is true, but a loan is better then then sell to Atletico and in two years we could buy him back (Jurado is never coming back peeps, neither is Juanfran). Madrid needs to get off their fucking high horse and start trusting and integrating their youth team players, its sad that one of the best youth setups in the world produces players for one of the best teams in the world and they never make it to the first team. Barca has you beat here big time, open your eyes assholes.

- Ok so that rant is over, Im cranking up the Toto to calm down. Milan has offered 8 mill for Julio “the Beast” Baptista. No, No, No. He is not worth that little, Mijatovic is a dumbass, he needs to be fired immediately. You buy Pepe for 30 mill and Sneijder for 20 something, and can only sell of Baptista for 8!?!? To the team that was gonna throw 60 million at Barca for Ronaldinho…. Wow is all I have to say

- 7 million for Emerson AC Milan, thats all, have him. That seems a fair price, he did nothing to warrant a higher fee this past year. But still, the article says Mijatovic and Calderon want to “balance the books” with a few sales. Heres a suggestion, dont pay out the ass for 2nd rate players like Pepe, Drenthe and Sneijder. All of their transfer fees could have been halved atleast, but theres no such thing as negotiating in Madrid, its just throw a pile of cash at someone and whatever sticks is the transfer fee.

- Old Bronzy Balls wants to get Cicinho on a plane to Rome fast, but he now has to look out for Sevilla. But wait, Cicinho only wants Roma, and Bronzy wants the best for both Real and Roma, and Dani Alves hasnt left for Chelsea yet, and and and….. out of breath. Im out, I wash my hands of Cicinho, he is getting to Chivu status. Go here for more Cici info http://roma.theoffside.com/transfer-rumors/mostly-fluff-a-little-nutter.html. And of course Chris’ world famous real life experiences mock ups. Classics.

- Moussa Sissoko, who most people who watch Ligue 1 knew of at the end of last year, is going to be watched by Man U and Arsenal today when Toulous squares off against the Pool. Shocker, I could write a list of players I think have alot of potential in Ligue 1, starting with Mr Nasri and ending with a young lad named Alexander Lazcette who plays for Lyon’s u-18 team at 15. But this is Real Madrid, or is this Sparta? Then we will fight in the shade….

- http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=52233. Christina Karembeu? Ha, so long ago, so so long ago, how is that even relevant? Anyways, Robben already has made some stirrings of this, and as usual the press gives Madrid a bad image by touting Real as always trying to unsettle their transfer targets and push through a move. The fact is, players dont turn down Madrid, no matter what team the play for (excluding you Barca). So dont bother trying to keep hold, its like a whirlpool, it sucks you in, or a strip club, different kind of sucking in though.

- Guti will study and offer from Spurs. Gay, but today has been depressing in the world of transfer news so I will leave it at that.

- http://www.goal.com/en-US/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=383592 Trickery abounds. I dont want Robben anymore, and I dont want Dani Alves eithe. Wall off the Bernabeau, no one leaves, no one comes in the squad is fine how it is.

- David Beckham may play in LA’s next game, with which everyone across America breaths a collective breath of “who the fuck cares”. I knew this was a mistake, should have stuck with us, all you had to do was stand on the side of the field and it a ball for an assist or two, then go bang your anorexic wiffie.

Im beat, I think im gonna do a detailed piece on the crapiness of Madrid transfer dealings of the past decade or so a little later today, since its my last day of work. College here I come, two more years of drinking, smoking and banging. And studying….. Meatman, feel free to comment, I know your out there, peering through the bushes saying “Good Call”. HA

I think Sneijder is a good purchase, actually. Madrid’s midfield lacked a decent playmaker, and Sneijder, while not exactly a playmaker, can become so.

Inara: It really depends on what you think of Guti. There’s no disputing his talent, but he sorta disappears too often to be relied upon heavily, hence the necessity for competition.

If it did not come across this way I apologize, but Sneijder is the only purchase im fully behind, except the fee is outrageous and it pushes some of the younger guys further down the depth chart to use american football terms. (Yeah, Madden is great) He will provide a driving force in the midfield, and he will do well to cover for Guti’s lack of consistency, but the type of player he is, i have doubts over how compatible he is with Diarra/Emerson as oppossed to say Gago/De La Red. The first to will do much of the defensive work, the other to not so much. Sneijder can do some defensive work, so he may be a bit much with Diarra/Emerson defensively.

Dude, I swear, like 33% of those are real life. The rest are made up.

And I miss the galacticos. Sneijder and Drenthe just doesn’t do it for me.

Btw, Cicinho to Roma within 24 hours reportedly. They’re within 0.5m now, so it’ll get done.

Ohh chris, i bet its higher percentage, but im gonna take your lead and start a few of those cause i have some funny ones. Cicinho to Roma was a given before he destroyed his knee against Betis, you can have him, he wouldnt give his all for his if we kept him around, he seems demotivated by the fact that theres better players then him in the squad.
