The Grapevine: Its Back Boys and Girls

By: Corey | August 23rd, 2007

So I have been busy the past week or so, I have been working at school and that takes up most of my day and my evenings are filled with things that college kids do, ill let you figure that one out. I missed the Super Cup loss, but Steve covered that excellently, so high fives all around. Crappy loss, but Sevilla are a good team. Lets get into the nitty gritty of the transfer markets going ons the past few days and this morning:

Lets start this off:

As usual, dont pay attention to the video, just listen to the music. Mickey Avalon is the artist, and the song is Mr Right. Great stuff.

- Gabriel Heinze has signed for Real, presumably as our new left back. I am indifferent, he will do fine, this means Drenthe is definately our left wing, and it all but closes the door of Arjen Robben. Look for Marcelo to get playing time though cause Heinze is a more then capable center back, and he will add some physicality to our back line.

He will be presented with Robben today at 5pm. Video will be up tomorrow so you can see these two guys get there jerseys and stand next to the barely breathing Alfredo Di Stefano.

- Well, Arjen Robben is rumored to be close to signing, it may be made official later today. Like I said before, I dont care for him, why are we, Real Madrid, signing discard from Chelsea? Pedja, get in here…. Wait, no, he is pretty much definately about to sign. Coulda Shoulda Woulda. Here it is, and for once I like something Goal.com has posted:
http://www.goal.com/en-us/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=391104
150 mill folks, money well spent? We will see in my editorial piece that should drop on Friday.

- Schuster wants a new striker. Why? Cause ours dont score, except for Ruud but he is still rehabing technically.
http://www.transfermarketweb.com/index.php?action=read&idsel=2538 Interesting, but im content with what we have, its more the service that isnt up to par. I blame it on Schusters tactic-less playing he has been doing. I really dont know how long he will last, not to long if this keeps up. Huntelaar is good but we have Ruud so no, and Millito vs. Soldado, give time to Roberto, he will bed down and put a few away and get his confidence back. Not another year on loan, he needs to adapt to Madrid again thats all, Osasuna is completely different.

- Roma still want Cicinho, Cici still wants Rome, whats going on here? Welllll, it looks like its finally done. Cross your fingers that Bronzy balls has gotten this deal signed in blood and semen for biological proof.

Umm, BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No shit. Good riddance, he is a puss anyways. AC Milan loves old Brazilian players, swear to god they have kryptonite at their training camp to keep some of these guys going.

- Cici has been offered to Chelsea in exchange for Robben. Old news though cause Cici is on his way to the Eternal city. Hmm, oh and according to goal.com, we are going to battle Chelsea for Dani Alves. What a tangled mess of transfers we have here.

- Breaking News!!! Freshmen girls are easy, and waiting 2 hours for a parking pass and missing McDonalds breakfast by 3 minutes really makes you angry for the rest of the day.

- http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=53273 WHAAAAA? How many fucking players do you need Mancini, jesus christ, your like Quique Flores or Jose Mourinho or are dumbass German coach. If you cut these guys money supplies off, they would be horrible coaches. Juande Ramos and Thomas Shaaf all the way, low budgets and good teams.

- So whats with the defence. Our depth chart is looking strange, its over loaded, but we just let Sevilla (Kanoute and Renato) score 5 goals against us. Metzelder, Canna, Pepe and Sergio Ramos comprise our center back options, but Heinze can play there and Sergio Ramos will play at left back alot. Sergio Ramos, Cicinho and Salgado at right back. Torres can play there to, its his natural position but you will see him on the left alot. Marcelo, Heinze will also play at left back. That means 3 players for the wide backs and technically 5 for center backs. Redic.

- Real are rumored to have offered 20 mill for Dimitar Berbatov. I love Berbatov, he is a great player, skillful and scores goals, but the outlay we have made this year is rediculous, and as Don Fabio has stated, Real is paying there way out of having no long term planning.

- http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=53436 Wow, I didnt know negotiations were so far progressed. Oh well, they may still be on, who knows. Pedja is a shady character, and he will get what he is looking for. Like the guy at a party who hands out beers to girls, but the beers are in different colored Solo cups from what everyone else has and they are fizzing a bit and the guy calls them Ruffiecolatas and girls start to pass out after 15 minutes and disappear. Pedja is that guy, the hair tips you off. Kids, dont take beer from anyone, pour it from the keg tap yourself.

- Fabio Capello says that Real Madrid management wanted David Beckham to be axed last year, even though that was one of the dumbest moves in the world. Sure the guy appears to be the faggiest thing on the planet, but his passing and dead ball ability means he gives you atleast an assist or two a game, as well as spraying the ball over the field like Peyton Manning does against nickel package. BOOYAH!

- Roberto Soldado has stated that he is definately staying, and that he was confirmed by both Pedja and Schusty. Cute.

- Getafe are willing to drop a half mill to help Atletico take Javi Garcia off our hands. Personally I dont want this to happen, but both teams seem pretty set. Getafe’s Casquero is being eyed by Valencia, which means Javi Garcia would be thrown into the first team by Micheal Laudrap, who was my pick for the coach for this new season. Oh well, chance of this messy move happening 5/10. Because I write the posts.

- Dreamboat Tom Brady is a father, expect him to put up some huge nmubers this year as usual. Solid. But im a Buffalo fan so expect Losman to put up…..some numbers this season. Football is sooooo close I can taste the beer and hot wings on Sunday night.

Thats all for today, ill do a presentation special and do a preview of the the derbi. Gonna be a good one.

Thanks John. Things will start to slow down for me after this weekend, its always a mess when everyone moves back in on campus, 3000 people flood a small area in one day. Anyways, I will have some grapevine and a preview for the derbi tomorrow. Keep reading people.
