08/09 Kits

By: Corey | June 24th, 2008

These are late, because I completely forgot about the kits for next season. I had posted a video awhile back with pictures of the new kits, but here is some official stuff for everyone to drool at.

So Gonzo and Mamadou made it into the picture, impressive. They look so noble and righteous in this pic, hopefully these new kits give them some more luck in the Champions League and Copa del Rey. Here are some more pictures:

I really like the blue away kit, I think it is snazzy. Its fairly close to the old school purple ones of Di Stefano’s day, and I think its important to keep that tradition. The black kits of the past few years were fine, but I think they should be European kits at best, white and black are the home kit, and a purple/blue infusion are the away. It is ‘Real’ Madrid for a reason. Enjoy!

What i notice is that there’s no Robinho in the pics. A significant hint of things to come? Not like we had no idea that he might leave us, but still.

Im surprised Diarra and Higuain made it too, we usually have the spaniards and somebody like Beckham in such pics. Nevertheless kits look classy, remind me of the pre galactico times. And yes, blue looks good, touch of the Di Stefano days as Corey said. Hope we bring back the champions league to its home, because there is absolutely no chance we will win in 2010 as Bernebeu hosts the final :P

Yes it is, but royal blue was the third kit back in the day when third kits were first introduced. Although I would have liked seeing Real stick to a purple jersey, the blue is really sharp, its the jersey I am going to buy.

I wasn’t talking about the away jersey. Shouldn’t it be purple instead of black in the home jersey?

I’m already kicking myself for getting the 07-08 home kit…. the one with the purple stripes, at Rs2700 it was quite expensive. the new ones look better. only when will i get the dough to shell on a pair?

I buy a new kit every two years. This year I am up for one and pretty excited that the blue one is available. Lets just hope that the following years kits arent extrordinary so I keep what little money I have in my pockets.
