lol a madrid lol a madrid
It is crystal clear that this club is in constant decline. Slowly but surely the once mighty have fallen. They have flopped horrendously in Europe for the last 5 years. Gone are the days were AC milan, barcelona, manchester utd would fear real madrid and pray to god that they avoid them in the champions league. We are now living in the days were Italian, german, and french clubs easily dispose of real madrid.
Madridistas will always hang on to the fact that they have won 9 champions leagues. I say congratulations, but plz know that nobody is fooled. 5 of those cl were the first european cups ever staged, it was during the days were the competition was weak. Look at them now, failing to reach the quarters for 5 straight years.
This year the evidence is there for all to see, Madrid are no longer an elite club. In fact, they are as good as aston villa and fiorentina at best.
People again will mention the 13 wins out of 14 in la liga, but I am not fooled. This is because the quality of teams in la liga has clearly deteriorated. I have watched madrid many times these season because my friend is a madrid fan and i watch it with him. I see them playing double pivots against racing santander and osasuna, which is the only reason they are not conecing many goals. When you face teams that are not so great in attack, and choose to play with a double pivot, and u are lucky to have a great goalkeeper, then you will keep cleansheets by default, mainly because the other teams will not attack you much. With all the quality attackers madrid buy, they are bound to score.
Clearly many fans were naive and let the numbers fool them. Before the first clash against liverpool, fans worldwide were claiming madrid are great again and will win the cl and will roll over liverpool. I was not fooled, and I knew they would get embarassed by liverpool, and they did.

Yeah Marca was wrong in their lineup prediction as well. Which I like because it means Juande has kept the papers guessing, but also other teams.

Hey all, solid victory this weekend again and keeps the status quo intact. I was reading on ESPN (eduardo alvarez article, man i miss phil ball) that Ramos left the match at half and went to a bullfight that his buddy was performing in. I know he was suspended and there was no way he could touch the pitch, but that seems like an odd decision to make. Is this the guy we want wearing the Madrid armband in the future? I don’t know, but this is certainly not the first questionable moment for Sergio. I know the question of Ramos’ card issues was raised this past week, but would he really be a good captain for our team in the future?

James, De La Red and Ramos would be the best candidates for captain, but only if De La Red actually gets a shot and becomes a regular in the team over a period of time. After all, I’ve never liked the idea of a keeper as a captain.

Let’s face it, Casillas is going to be captain for a long time after Raul has gone

Let’s also not forget that young players mature and change. For a long time throughout David Beckham’s career he was not captain material – but he became one of England’s great captains in the end (regardless of whether you rate his footballing ability or not)
