El Derbi Hala Madrid Hala Madrid Hala Madrid
Big props to Steve-o ( I will never run out of nicknames for him ) for trying to live blogging the game today. This game will go down as unseen by both RM Offside bloggers, so match commentary is based on highlights stuff. Anyways, to the game. This is technically the first competitive match recap I have ever done here, so lets hope it goes well.

Have to include some kind of music for you guys to listen to, and I think this song is not appropriate but I have always been a fan.

Line Ups:
Real: Casillas-Sergio Ramos Cannavaro Pepe Drenthe- Robinho Diarra Sneijder Guti- Raul RVN
Subs: Metzelder on for Canna at half time due to injury (Schuster took a risk, may not have payed off), Saviola cam on Raul and Gago for Sneijder

Atletico: Franco-Seitaridis Perrea Pablo Pernia- Maxi Raul Garcia Maniche Simao- Aguero Forlan

Line Up Comments:
Raul was obvious even though no one wanted it, but seeing as how he scored maybe he will turn a corner here. Drenthe at left back was rumored, and Guti on the “left” was kinda iffy. Other then that, all was expected. Nice to see the team with the trophy too, suck on that Atletico.

The Game:
Real played well, actually Guti Robinho and Sneijder played well. The first half was entertaining, a host of chances being created by Real, and Robinho and Sergio Ramos were terrific on the right, and encouraging display, while Guti was kinda pinched in but was playing very well. To be honest, I was pleased with the way Real played, and I hope Raul has returned to his goal scoring ways. I give Robinho man of the match just because the highlights i saw he stood out the most. This is pretty brief because I didnt watch the game, and I have a nasty hangover right now, got slammered last night so staring at a computer screen right now is killing me. Im gonna pass out on my futon, you peeps can discuss the game and thats how we will do this thing.

Enjoy…

From what I saw I’d give the man of the match award to Sergio Ramos - he played brilliantly on the right providing some magnificent crosses, including the one that Raul nodded in, and at one point he had a header that hit the post. He was all over the field. I think one of the highlights I was the most excited about, however, was seeing Schuster actualy giving some direction to Guti on the sidelines! Does Schuster, in fact, have a clue? At least there’s hope!

What really put the icing on this weekends Derbi cake was the fact that Barcelona couldn’t manage to score a single goal against Racing. Madrid gets the jump out of the gates, with only Villareal and Sevilla out of last years top six showing more convincing displays. TV rights better be sorted out by next week.
