Elortegui Named Communications Director
By: Corey | January 8th, 2009
In lesser known news for those of you who cant read Spanish (I am not bragging, I can barely read it either), Alejandro Elortegui was appointed Communications Director for Real Madrid earlier today. He leaves his post as General Director of Progresa, and takes over for Fernando Nadal who left a long time ago. That says he worked for AS and Progresa and he is a licensed journalist (do journalists get licensed in Spain?).
Now this appointment really is meaningless unless Elortegui is able to tell Calderon and Miajtovic to shut their mouths once and awhile. I assume he will do more background stuff related to good press, which we seem to be completely lacking these days. Welcome aboard Alejanro!
Also, your/you’re, to/too, there/their/they’re for all of you who think I dont know whats what.

Robben has stayed fit for just over a month and a half including the Christmas holiday.
I know, this must sound crazy but I hope Pedja stays one more summer. The pressure has grown so high for Calderon that he is now trying to hide from the fans/spectators at the bernabeure and if he wants to stay in the running he’s going to have to bring in some big name players, ‘cracks’, he has already made the promise know he has to fulfill (Ribery and Benzema). Pedja and Calderon will spend what ever money it takes, I see another 130EM summer.
I hope Ben Arfa is on the cards, if what Diouf says is true…

From what I’ve read, Benzema & Ben Arfa can’t stand each other. I say bring in Ribery instead… he can play attacking midfielder and play on the wings too…. sure, he doesn’t have a face for Real Madrid (i.e. he looks like a white Somali Pirate) … bure he’s sure got the talent, and he doesn’t seem to come with any off-field baggage either.

ROFL
For any of u who watch real madrid tv, the morons said “the bad batch is well and truly over”. LOL
How is a bad patch over? Just cause of 2 single goal home wins? Wow, i understand optimism, but this is extreme. So robben produces a great goal, and suddenly madrid are not sucking anymore? ROFL
Madrid are indeed still sucking. They can never have a good attack and a good defence in the same game, THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED in la liga this season. No balance at all, its either all out attack or all out defense. And the only times they keep clean sheets is when they defend in numbers, what a poor pathetic sad team this is.

Why r u calling me a bitch? u really need to learn a few life lessons, and one of them is to learn how to take criticism, instead of acting like a barbarian.
Oh, and what is this about me being 3 legged? And no, im not “i hate madrid”. and why would u assume that?

I really liked our boys today, they played well, and it got really easy after Arjen’s opening goal; I liked everybody, they all played solid football, and Madrid got the 3 points, that’s what counts…
Next two games are at home, against Osasuna and Deportivo, so hopefully we’ll have 6 more points, let’s see how the leaders do in the coming weeks, sooner or later they’ll hit a rough patch, so it’s just a matter of going one game at a time…
These are my rankings for our players:
Iker 8
Heinze 6.5
Canna 8
Pepe 8
Lass 7
Gago 8.5
Robben 9.5
Sneijder 6.5
Raul 7.5
Higuain 9Subs:
Palanca 5
Van der Vaart 4
Huntelaar 4Take care everybody!!! HALA MADRID

A great game from Real Madrid , hopefully the team can stay consistent and healthy, and who knows maybe they can win the Champions League this year with Robben the FIFA player of the year. Let us all pray that Robben never gets injured again otherwise it would be a tragedy.
By the way, you guys all have been very harsh, tough and gangbanging on NOTHING. He seems like a nice dude, who is respectful of others despite our differences. So let us agree to disagree without being disagreable, and not create a culture of intolerance and hate.
Insults are always disgusting and offensive!!!
Apologies to You NOTHING!
Go Madrid…Go Robben!Posted from

Cesar, you left out Sergio Ramos from your player rankings lol. Anyway great game from Real and I was partiicularly impressed by Gago and Lass in the centre of the field. And if at first I wanted Huntelaar enrolled in the UCL, I definetely now believe that Lass will add much more to the team, even if we are short on strikers. HALA MADRID

Brian,
LOL, you’re right, I just saw it, so if anyone was wondering, here it goes:
Ramos 8.5
Now I have the full squad, thanks Brian for noticing…
Take care everybody, it’s been a very nice weekend for me and my family, and Madrid’s win was just a perfect ending for this past couple of days
HALA MADRID!!!

Nothing, whether you are I Hate Madrid or not is immaterial, I can look at your IP address and determine who you are. I could care less if you dont like Real Madrid or all of the etc. etc. etc. associated with the team. But keep the talk a little more mild, the lot here is a little sensitive right now as the team is still a bit of a wounded animal.
The Lot- Dont be so aggressive with non-Real fans. What I want to see is constructive responses, some good arguments. Thanks.

I agree that Sunday’s game was, once again, very encouraging, but Real still has a long way to go. Specifically, I’d like to see more creativity from our midfield.
Lass’s presence is clearly making a difference, and I’m convinced he’s the best decision for the CL. However, despite what seems to be the common opinion that Lass’s success implies Guti’s exclusion, I’d still like to see how they’d pair up at the center of the park.
Palanca, while not dazzling, showed a lot of promise again, particularly in his vision of the field. Saw open men and moved the ball to them, and was very unselfish in doing so. Good stuff, hope he continues to get his chances.
And concerning ‘Nothing,’ I have to say it’s really upsetting. I don’t like the fact that he seems (regarding his first post) to be taunting by presenting a very biased and, frankly, unintelligent critique of our team (to ignore 3 clean sheets, the noticeably improved balance of the team, and the improved performances overall, and to sum up the change as one good goal from Robben is far from a smart analysis). But I also don’t read this post to hear name calling. Let’s all try to respond with intelligence and class when faced with things we don’t agree with.
Hope the season continues to improve, I like what I’m seeing! Hala Madrid!
