Grapevine 9/11 A Day Of Rememberance

By: Corey | September 11th, 2007

I want everyone to remember what today is. For all the fallen men and women of the trade towers, firefighters, police men and women, EMTs, rescue personel, national guard, and citizens trying to help out, we honor your bravery today. And for all our troops, where ever they may be, we salute you and keep you in our minds. Your sacrifices does not go unnoticed. And also because I am fiercly American, I have to say AMERICA FUCK YEAH.

Thats required, some may say thats disrespectful, but I say this “when im washing my hair with my Tropical Island Mango shampoo in the shower I think to myself how good we have it, and how the rest of the world is a fucking dump. Then I raise my hand and say AMERICA, FUCK YEAH and throw a salute.” (excerpt from www.wwtdd.com)

Ok, here is the nitty gritty of today and yesterday:

- One of Barca’s youth team players, Alacantra, rejected an offer fomr Chelsea. Now I know that im suppose to hate on Barca, but this is a good thing, because it shows that kids arent lured to the big money of the EPL. Chelsea doesnt develop youth talent, so why would you sign up for their academy?

- Raul is in talks to extend his deal until 2012. If he keeps scoring goals and playing like a man possesed, then this is a good move. Raul will never leave Madrid, so just extend it and get it over with.

- Alvaro Negeredo, the very talented but somehow disguarded winger/striker will not be allowed to play for Almeria against Los Blancos this weekend. The “Morientes” clause was inserted into his contract, and it was discovered that we have a 2 year buy back option on him as well. Seeing as how he has scored in both games this year and looked really impressive, it 1. seems like a good idea not to have him play against us and 2. monitor his progress and buy him back eventually if he keeps up like this. More Spanish players on a Spanish team….

- Javier Lozano has been apointed as our new director of football. Then what is Pedja, or Portugal? Im seriously confused here, what do these guys actually do? All i know is if Lozano was the one that hired Aragones then he is a complete dumbass.

- This is a few days old, but Ramon Calderon has stated that Real financially were all set to sign Dani Alves, but Schustie said “no no thank you kind sir” because Real have the best squad in the world right now. And I am currently banging Jessica Alba.

- Gonzalo Higuain wants to score 15 goals this year. I dont see it, simply because he isnt a great finisher and he will probably be on the right alot. I do see his future as the Raul backup, he is a skillful lad and may do well in the hole, lets wait and see.

- Heinze is probably gonna make his debut this weekend, but news now that Arjen Robben has been doing double sessions to get fit for this weekends game. I applaud the effort only slightly, because double sessions were what we did in highschool to stay fit all year long.

- David Aquino has not been signed by Real, but instead we have a preferred option on him. Murcia has stated that there are no ties to Real and they can sell to who ever they please. Well Murcia, if you dont sell to us and we drop the ball on this one, your not gonna get nearly as much money outta Deportivo or Getafe as you would out of us, so your hardline negotiation tactics will only woo our man Pedja into giving you even more money. Wait, crap, thats a bad thing.

- The only difference between Almeria and Real is the pay packet, according to Almeria midfielder Crusat. Yeah that and we won the league last year, come one body, the reigning champs against a promoted team, sure you can upset us, but we can give you a Villareal-esque beat down just as easily.

Sorry that my tone is cynical and angry today, its raining out, its 9/11 and im not in a good mood. Read this stuff but remember what today means to us Americans.

Hmmm, I don’t want to belittle the collective grief of your experience, Corey, but a sports blog is not the place to be indulging in patriotic rhetoric. A simple note of remembrance would have been sufficient, without any sports news.
