I Am Disappointed In You

By: Corey | March 5th, 2008

I do not have much to say, I was disappointed in tonight’s performance from our team, in the referee, and in the Roma players attittudes. But I dont feel like getting into a pissing match just for the sake of being a sore loser, we lost and we yet again our out of the CL, the competition we look forward to winning every year. I do not feel like reviewing a game I so bitterly detested, so I will leave this space open for debate, but keep the banter to pleasentries please, we dont need any swearing/hate speech, its the last thing I want to see during my Diversity Week here at school.

Maybe I will have the stones for a weekend preview, but I doubt it, I have a midterm tomorrow, open bar tonight and tomorrow night, a job interview Friday and I have to make the long journey back to upstate New York as well on Friday, so we may be out of a preview for the match against Espanyol at the Bernabeu, 2pm eastern on Saturday. Hala Madrid!

Of course Roma is going to play more defensively away than at home. Duh.

oh, well, if the football pundit, “associated press”, says so then it must be gospal.

yes, get back to your whining about r. madrid. that is your strength.

You Roma fans really need to get your story straight. I think some valid points were made, both about the outcome of the match due to strategy and a case for Real fans speaking out against the Roman’s poor attitude and vice versa. In the end, you won, whatever you did worked. Be gracious winners as well. OK then, moving on.

For Real fan’s, we lost. What the f–k? Seriously, its time to forget about the first half of the season, things are not alright at the Bernabeu, or are they? I’m still astonished at Schuster’s attitude.

    and for the record:

As of 2005, the AP’s news is published and republished by more than 1,700 newspapers, in addition to more than 5,000 television and radio broadcasters.

I posted the AP article, because it would be unfair to post one from AS or Marca. As a third party, respected source, yes, I can say that I think it’s fair to assume that most of the world is in concensus about what occurred. I think it might be someone else that is in denial.

corey with the heavy-handed, condescending authoritarian threats. this blog commentary is for discussion and debate. who are you to intervene and judge what is ‘worthy’ of discussion?

i would hope you were kidding. if not, seriously, get a fucking life. feel free to exert your self-imposed authority if it makes you cope.

ya, elmo you are so right. associated press is more credible than cannavaro, who actually played in the game and happens to play ON REAL MADRID.

haha, that is hilarious. I say kick her off, for insolence and just in general for the bad attitude (just like her team’s). Just kidding. As i stated a few times before, seriously, let’s move on. We could go back and forth forever and I actually need to get some work done.

You have to imagine that Schuster is just doing damage control with a quote like that, but given his tendency (when coaching other sides) to peter out in the second half of the season – I’m alarmed. I also think that yesterday’s game made it clear that Ruud alone cannot carry the team. I really, REALLY want to see Benzema in white, and that Mijatovic declared the player unaffordable indicates to me that they are going after him, just trying to cool off speculative price gauging from other teams.

Before I go back to adressing the Roma match, I want to repeat myself once more: I am not whining about the RESULT. ROMA EARNED THEIR WIN. MADRID’s GOAL WAS OFFSIDE, ROMA’S WERE JUST PRETTY. okay. You guys won it, not in one single post have I tried to deny that. Also, I’d like to point out that as a whole, you Roma fans have been pretty cool, and I really appreciate your comments. Most of you even wished us luck in La Liga, which I think is pretty classy. Good luck to your boys in the CL, and in Serie A.

Now, a little note for the diaper wearing Roma fan (read: lamagica). Although I surely could never understand the intricate game of football as well as you do, with your infinite wisdom and bad punctuation, I think I at least KIND OF get it, a little bit, maybe. Usually, when a team plays with a minimum of six players in their own box, it indicates a defensive tactic. It also helps when your team captain admits that they are going to play defensively. I applaud Roma on playing a very tactical game of football. They came out aggresive, frazzled Madrid by fouling them (sometimes called sometimes not – that’s just the nature of the game) and then took every chance to stop the flow of play, by – YES – wasting time and rolling around on the ground. Their counter attacks were well measured and well taken. It was very similar to the way that Brazil played Argentina in last years Copa America. I apologize for not picking up on the mystical nuances that you alone can percieve, but it seems to me Roma played a tactical, defensive game of football, protected and even extended their advantage, and won. I’ve not argued that. I just think they rolled around and wasted a lot of time, and I don’t like watching that.

pull the trigger corey, there is no need for that.

John, I hope it’s just damage control and that behind closed doors he is ripping his team a new one. Even if it is damage control, I’m not a fan of that “nothing to see here” approach. It reminds me of how Bush recently denied we were headed into a recession, but that’s another story all together. As a fan I’d like to see some fire from Schuster, just plain, pissed off, this is unacceptable and we apologize to the fans fire. If he can’t be that kind of guy, maybe he’s not the right kind of guy for the job.

lamagica is kind of cute, isn’t he? To get this wound up about other people’s opinion and analysis of a football game is a strong indicator of something. I’m guessing he’s not been laid in a very long time. Perhaps never.

    And I’m not joking either.

And I would actually vote against kicking him off. I love dissent, especially when it makes the dissenter sound like a grade schooler. (Did you guys read the bit about me having tampons shoved in my eyes? you can’t tell me that didn’t get you to at least snicker a bit. Next he’ll be calling me a doo-doo head.)

dude your a fucking pest, seriously, your arguments are shit, your misinformed, you arrogant attitude prevents you from actually having a elevated conversation beyond grade school insults. Go look in the mirror and ask yourself who really needs to get a life. Corey has to maintain some level of descency in the postings, its his job as moderator. I for one am ready to stop having to listen to your bullshit. This is a Real Madrid blog, for Real Madrid fans. We post her because we love this team and like to hear what other fans have to say. You in turn are a useless fucking pest. Really, you have the balls to tell someone to get a life. Lady you are a moron!

And I suppose with all that said, the best we can do now is not to encourage him, which will be tough, because he’s really easy to make fun of. My last comment on our mealy brained guest: And to think, up until now I always thoughts canucks to be peace loving, mild mannered folks.

On to other things. Word on the street is that Villareal are ready to offer De la Red a good chunk of change. I’d be dissapointed – I really would like to see him come back to Madrid after his loan.

I think this has gone way beyond.

It started as a friendly jab between me and John which i wud have taken on the chin as well if i was on the losing side but some of the folks out here took it a bit too far.

It was a pleasure to play great time like urs and i hope u guys do well in La Liga and clinch the title.
Cant get any simpler than this that Roma was the better team on the park and we deserved our win and Spaletti made Schuster look like a novice when it came to the tactics.

I on behalf of my fellow romanista’s say thank u for a good game and No offence meant or taken.

    My match comments:

Fire Schuster, hire Mourinho! Soon we’ll be “killing” our opponents!

But seriously we should hire him…we wanted him last year, couldn’t get him, and now we have a 2nd tier manager at a world-class club. Time for a world class manager like Jose with proven success in the Champs Lge, Premiership (toughest league in Europe IMO), FA Cup, and in smaller cup competitions. It just doesn’t seem like Schuster is putting out anything different from last year AT ALL. I feel like I’m watching it all over again, except now it’s probably our turn to blow the league. It just seems like our players are floating around out there, waiting for something to happen. They look very lost and certainly lack a killer instinct. There’s a lack of mental toughness as well. All of this falls under the responsibility of Schuster. We don’t have a plan, coordination, creativity. Everybody’s playing their own game instead of playing together. And WE PLAY NOT TO LOSE, instead of playing to win.

It’s obviously way past time for some fresh world-class players as well…it seems we lack any real firepower without Ruud, our midfielders aren’t pacey or smart enough to compete with the best teams in the world, and our D is just shit right now(excuse Sergio Ramos and me).

I’m in Florida for the next two games, I’ll try and keep up! Sucks about the board meltdown…hopefully order is restored, no need for fighting here. No need to bash other squads either, we’ve got plenty to bash on our own after these last two months.

Man of the Match: Raul is the f-in king of Madrid

Goats: People who wasted their time fighting on the boards…I understand that Roma fans were a little obnoxious, but then if you beat the greatest club in the history of football in their own house, wouldn’t you be too??? It’s ok Roma fans, just go celebrate on your own board next time. Leave this one for us to comment about our squad. I appreciate those who defended the Whites however, as I would have done the same.

I never liked bringing in Bernardine from the start. I did not believe he had the experience necessary to handle a Big team with pressure like Madrid. But I bit my tongue and relented. And I just don’t think he has a plan B. It’s great that he is friends with the players and not a totalitarian, but sometimes you need someone like that who can motivate and challenge them. The is tactically astute and clever. I hope Schuster does not blow La Liga. Think of it, our fiercest rivals are still going for the triplete. Our dream. Scary. We need strength and spirit. All the money he spent last summer and players he and Pedja brought in, are still unproven IMO. All players need to step up and believe.

    Vamanos! Aupa Madrid! Aja!
