I took this right from the Real website, just as and FYI for everyone out there:
The construction of the future building where Real Madrid youth system players will live together is going according to plan. The first stage in the building process, during which the structure and foundations of the building have been laid out, will soon finish.
Opposite the Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium at Valdebebas are the construction works for the future Youth System Residence. Work is going according to plan and will soon see the 4,791 m2 building rise from a 5,700 m2 plot.
Valdebebas is one of the most rapidly expanding areas in the Spanish capital. It is permanently growing thanks to plans to expand IFEMA and build a new Palace of Justice, and the presence of Real Madrid City. What five years ago was just a field now is the most important sports facilities owned by a sports club in the world.
The first stage in the construction works for the residence has focused on the building’s structre and will come to an end at the end of the month. Approximately 50 workers have been on the site. Security measures are well above the national average because, besdie the usual individual and collective measures, work has been supervised 50% of the time by a security and health coordinator, as opposed to only once a week.
The building will be inaugurated in September 2009. It will have 48 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Every room will look out on the street and will have large glass panels. There will be several dining rooms, as well as leasure and study areas. The building will also have an auditorium. The second stage of construction, during which the facilities will be completed and finishing touches will be applied to the façades, will soon commence.
Ramón Calderón laid the stepping stone of the Aguirre-Newman designed building just over three months ago. The Club compromised itself to finish construction according to plan and it is so far fulfilling its promise.
