Inside the Bernabeu
By: Steve | September 12th, 2008Hala Madrid! Lookie here, another post from yours truly! I got a treat for all you Madridistas out there, but more so for all the ones who’ve never been to Madrid or seen Goal 2 (check Dancy’s writeup for more info)… a picture gallery from inside the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu!
I’ve got a couple friends in Madrid and I go to visit at least once a year - I’ve already been there twice this year. A few years ago, I went to the stadium and did the tour… it was awesome. I’ve since gone to see a match, but the pics below are from that first visit.
Enjoy!

What the hell is that giant pyramid-shaped trophy?
Cool pics, btw. I’ve never been to the Bernabeu.

The pyramid thing is from one of the Spanish pre-season tournaments, which specialise in ridiculously grandiose trophies. It looks a bit like the one Cadiz hands out, but I don’t recognise it off the top of my head. The lighthouse next to it is from La Coruna.
The Bernabeu is an impressive ground; shame about its occupants.

Thanks for the photos! I love those blue leather seats, so airplane-like.
And don’t worry about the Numancia game, I can liveblog that one. Do you want to shoot me an email at dancyfu@gmail.com so we can coordinate for the future who will do what? Thx!

Shame? 9 champion leagues will atract those jealous 7 CL holders..; ) it is what it is: the most successfull team in the history of the sport, Hala Madrid.

As much as I loathe this club and everything having to do with it, the stadium looks phenomenal and the club has fantastic pride.

Ah Jon, once Real has its hooks on you it won’t let go - I’m sure we can turn that irrational loathing into adoration
