Julen Lopetegui Interview

Julen Lopetegui is the coach of Real Madrid Castilla, after he was a scout for the club for several years, and one of the head scouts for the past couple of years. For those of you unaware, Real Madrid Castilla is the oldest youth team Real fields, usually of consisting of playes from 18-23 years old, with the majority in their 20s. They currently play in the Thirsd Division of Spain’s league football structure, and the are currently in joint 1st place with Real Murcia B on 15 points after an excellent start to the season.

Julen speaks about the good start to the seasons from his young charges as well as the challenges that lie ahead:

The trainer of Real Madrid Castile went one of the guests to the program White Launching, on RealmadridTV. Lopetegui comprised of an interesting social gathering with professionals of the world of the communication and also it responded to some of the questions that did the present ones there to him (Hindu Eduardo, Angel Rodriguez and Siro Lopez). One of the first questions was by the present state of its equipment, del that the trainer feels tremendously proud:

“I have a competitive equipment and very united. It is not easy to be able to be conceited of it watching as it is the world of soccer; we want that the players are calm and who they improve. Second Division B is a very hard and professional category. We try that the boys are burning stages. The important thing is the adaptation. There have been many changes of players, but we have started well. We have undergone too many expulsions and played much with numerical inferiority, but we go leaders”.

“They are boys who before did not play and are having high productivity and commitment. They have understood what Real Madrid wants of them to be able to prevail. And not only in Real Madrid, if not in its profession, soccer”, in response to the question on its players. Hindu Eduardo wanted to know a concrete name on a young promise of the branch:

“It is not necessary to pay attention to anybody, if not in the equipment, that is the one that removes the individualities and not the other way around. The equipment is over everything. And it is not the same individuality that individualism”. Alfonso Billiards, conductor of White Launching slip and good friend of the ex- doorman for two decades, was interested on as he is confronting this new stage in his race:

“I am enjoying very many like trainer Real Madrid Castile. Once you have gusanillo of soccer in the body, you you cannot clear of above. My profession enchants to me. I enjoy very many. And more in this equipment, in which there is people very involved and work hard. But this finishes beginning, is much ahead”.

Crappy translation I apologize, but my reading of Spanish never transfers itself into me writing it down much better then what Babelfish gives me anyways. So Lopetgui like his job, and I envy him because I would love to be the coach of Castilla at his age, he is like 45 right now so he has a bright future in head of him. He has a very talented group of players, some of which will be playing in La Liga or Seguna next season as they have become to old to play with Castilla either by rule or in their own minds. But I do believe with this group they can achieve promotion back to the Segunda, and continue to give the youth team such great playing exposure.
