New Suits for Los Blancos

By: Corey | July 21st, 2008

(Im in a weird mood today, forgive me if this piece is dripping in sarcasm and goffy comments)

As if a week in the Algarve jogging on golf courses and dining on the ocean was not good enough, today Real will be fitted with new Hugo Boss suits for their trip to Irding, where the intense (and the part of preseason I dont envy the Real players for) begins. But first its time for a team of tailors and seamstresses to fit our boys with the new collection of BOSS Black suits. Because we must look good in order to play good (tell Guti that so he cuts his hair and shaves!).

It is a very stylish look similar to the one the team had during the previous campaign. Boss will provide the official clothes for the first team, Castilla and the first basketball squad, allowing them to continue to be elegant before and after games.

I for one am partial to the suits, because suits look good on me. But hell, everything looks good on me, I am a model with chizzled facial features and tasty abs. An elegant look for our team then, my guess is Calderon is trying to make the whole squad more pro-rated metro-sexual in order to make it a comfortable environment for Cristiano. By the way, has anyone seen the pictures of Cristiano in LA this past week? He was on crutches, and looked like Simon Birch!

OYYYY!!! Haha, funny little guy!

Well, on with preseason news, Irding will be without Fernando Gago, Marcelo, and Robinho as they are training with their national teams for the Olympics (who watches those?). Also, the international heroes of Spain, Iker, Segio Ramos and Ruben, will be returning to the squad in the midst of pre-season as they had extended vacations (Metzelder as well). It was revealed today that Robinho was with the team though, as he has been diagnosed with an injury to the pubic (pubis?? not a doctor) bone, which Real is trying to use as a reason to keep him out of the Olympics. Now word on what the Brazilian Federations stance on this is. Because we can not rely on old Glass Legs to keep the left wing(and the team doctors) busy.

Before the squad left for Austira, they had a small training session at Valdebebas, where Castilla players Juanmi Callejon and Felip Ramos joined the first team for a work out. Congrats to those two, who may make the trip to Irding, and possibly the first team this year. Of course Juanmi’s brother, Jose, has moved to Espanyol, where he will hope to do his best Negredo impression in his first season in La Liga. of course, he wont want to do a Soldado impression one would think.

Here are some training pics for you to oggle until Real touches down in Austria:

    lol - great post.

Re the Ronaldo situation - the entire thing is annoying because it is all a publicity stunt orchestrated by the sports agency he uses CAA and the start of entire campaign to get him more media coverage. Those within North America should get ready for a great deal of coverage on him -

Just read that 4 castilla players were invited to join the team in austria. Chema Anton, Parejo, Juanmi Callejon and Filipe Ramos. Best of luck to them. I really hope they get some playing time in the friendlies ahead.

Yep I saw that too Donovan, its good news, although I suspect Anton will still be with Castilla this year, Parejo will be loaned out somewhere (Deportivo, Santander or Getafe), Callejon will be sold to Espanyol and Ramos will be third choice unless Codina leaves. They are all good players, but I have lost hope that Schuster will ever use a Castilla player, he wants ready made players first and foremost.
