Oh God

By: Corey | October 30th, 2008

Ruben de la Red, as everyone knows, is my favorite Real Madrid player. He was playing in the Copa del Rey game against Irun tonight when he collapsed on the field in the 13th minute. He was stretchered off the field and taken to the hospital where numerous tests are being run on him. The speculation is that he was fatigued and had low blood sugar levels, but as I was not aware that he had diabetes or was anemic. I will keep you posted of the status of Ruben, but the good news is that he has contacted his family and is alert. Our prayers are with Ruben and his family in this trying time. And also, I am a little upset right now about this, so I will try to get a post up for the Almeria game soon.

Rivalries aside, my prayers are with De la Red as Antonio Puerta flashed across my mind when reading this.
