One Cup Down, Another To Go

Real Madrid 1 - 2 Deportivo La Coruna

Yeah so we lost to Deportivo yesterday in the Teressa Herrera Cup 2-1. The game was an interesting one, here are the highlights:

The line up was full of youth team and squad players, Schuster having an eye on the Super Cup presumably:
Dudek
Salgado Sergio Ramos Agus Marcelo
Cicinho Gago De La Red Baptista
Bueno Soldado

1st Half
Real were poor. Thats really it for the first half. Agus was found wanting pretty much every ten minutes, while Dudek had a good save in the 3rd minute and it was down hill from there. Sergio Ramos had a rare bad game and was subbed out at half time for Pepe. Looks like Metzelder may be in line for the Super Cup with Canna, while Sergio Ramos will start at RB (the reasons for this later). Deportivo striker Riki moved well with and without the ball and was a handful, but other then that, Real were not playing well at all.

2nd half
Baptista showed good determination to score, and Im glad he is back, he will probably start on the left alot if Robben is not brought in. Deportivo had a goal disallowed for a bogus offside, and Real were flat until the 60th minute where they showed some attacking intent. Balboa was brought on and he showed some life, while Saviola was a better equiped partner for Soldado. Baptista missed a chance, Balboa hit a great cross which was headed down and Soldado spurned his chance, Pepe had a goal disallowed for another bogus offside, and Pepe had a glancing header go off the post. Alot more life in the final 30 minutes. My player of the game is Julio Baptista, and honorable mentions to Pepe and Balboa. Soldado did well too, but other then that it was miserable. I was impressed with Salgado as a side note, he was captain and showed alot of heart, maybe he will get back to his form of 2 years ago.

Transfer Gossip Time

As I promised, Marvin Gaye for the transfer section.

Double Dutch
Conflicting reports say Robben has signed, others say he will, and yet I can not find a credible source to confirm it. Drenthe is confirmed pretty much, he should be presented today, ill try and get some video up of his presentation, but im throwing a kegger tonight so ill be busy tonight. Sorry, priorities.

Get rid of Cassano Campaign

Hopefully he will be gone, and he will play well so we can make back some bucks on him. MMMM bucks as in Starbucks, my pompous Northeastern ass needs a Chai Latte now after a late night at the bars.

Cicinho-gate
Chris at the Roma Offside came up with that title, but now it looks like he has got his wish. You owe old Bronzy Balls a beer big guy.
If this deal goes through I will be unhappy, cause I want to keep Cici for the right wing. But he wants Roma because Totti has a man cruch on him so as Julez Santana says, ‘There It Go’.

- Inter Milan have bid for Nasri. No, No No. Moratti get your grubby hands off our boy.
-Kim Kallstrom rumors are dead. Wesley Sneijder rumors are whats hot now. But a tribute to all things Sweedish, here is European pop sensation and global citizen Gunther, chaaaaaaa:

Hot bitches right there, Gunther is hilarious, but me and my friends rock out to it now. You know you like it.

- Real have been offered Quaresma, for 25 mill of course! What an offer, shove it oPorto.
- Emerson could take a pay cut to go to Milan. Uncle Fester is being mighty stingy
- Oscar Minambres cancelled his contract with Hercules and is considering retiring over his knee troubles. Thats a pity too, hate to see a guy have to retire so early. I wish him the best of luck and remember Oscar, everything happens for a reason.

Ryan at the Sevilla Offside (I refuse to link it, its on the left you lazy bastarrds) has put together a Super Cup preview, check it out, mine will hopefully be up after lunch, pzzzzz.
