Bwin_Granero

Alright, looks like Mou will deploy another “B-side” against a Zaragoza side that will be hard pressed to give up many points this late in the relegation battle. Hopefully today’s match will be a nice break up from the debacle that was the first leg of the CL semis. MADRID MADRID MADRID

Squad list:
Casillas, Dudek, Adan
Carvalho, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Garay, Nacho
Granero, Kaka, Canales, Di Maria, Ozil, Juanfran
Adebayor, Higuain, Benzema

  • New post up, folks!

Lol although this picture is taking a shot at us it is still pretty funny

  • Zizou
  • Zizou

ermmm am I an idiot for not getting this?

  • lol
It says " why did Mourinho's strategy fail"
Then on the pic on the left it says " con pepe" whichs means "With Pepe" and on the pic on the right it says " without Pepe"

  • nomz

    R u looking for a yes zizou :p

  • jajaja classic!

  • Madridista4ever

Today we were lacking the width on the pitch we usually get from DI maria and CR on the left and right..........the game from our side was too centralized.......Zaragoza blocked the middle and we had no answer to it but when Di maria came on we had a little more balanced side....against Barca we need to put XABI KAKA OZIL in the middle and CR n Di maria on the flanks and Benzo upfront , my only concern is in the back four without PEPE and RAMOS we could be in trouble..............

  • Zizou

Ozil and Di Maria I think judging on what Mou has said in his press conference will start against Barca.

  • Zizou

I was disapointed with Kaka today, especially after last week against Valencia, he played well then, he needs to have some consistency with us but he can't seem to do it.

  • Kaka does well when he gets space , like he did against valencia but with Zaragoza sitting deep he struggled

  • Zizou

Thats not really helpful to us then, to get him to play well we need to ask the other team to back off a bit and let him have time.
I also think he plays better of 1 striker, a CF and he's the creator, when Benz and Higuain play often they go wide so he has to play as the CF.

  • well he played really well with Benz and Higuain against Valencia but as i said that was due to the fact that Valencia gave him space on the counter , Kaka thrives in a counter attacking system but you cant counter attack when your opponent doesnt want to attack like zaragoza today

  • TheAngelOfMadrid

I didn't think he was that bad tbh. In fact, I thought him, Benzema and Di Maria were our best players.

  • Madridista4ever

Man o Man many ups and downs this season for RM............

  • marttynz

I have this feeling we can reach the UCL finals...thats if the players give their all ...

  • so far we have done very well in UCL games after losing in the league lets hope that trend continues

  • And Both teams drop points. It's like this game week never happened...

Also, loving the connection between Pipita and Benzema. Between them, they have 2 assists and 5 goals in the last two games. And loving Benzema's finish and pipita's passing.

  • for the first time they need each other to get back into the starting XI, whereas before they had to compete with one another to win the sole striker position and therefore had no real need to pass and play together. it is now interesting to see these two working together for the same end, it has produced some good play

  • Zizou

I was just going to say a comment on I think those two need to play more together, there were a few times that game where they one tried a cross or through ball and the other was just slow to react, they ddin't seem to be on the same wavelength, more games together would surely cure that. But yes they did connect well on the goal.

  • nomz

ladies and gentleman our real shop is now officially open to trolls and dogs, come on in, dont feel so shy

  • Oovantenishitz

I think Mourinhoshould play Castilla first XI next La liga game.

  • Zizou

This relegation battle is brilliant, Sociedad and Zaragoza win, you just can't tell who's going down this season.

  • indeed . much more interesting down there than at the top , although the competition for the Europa league places is pretty intense too

  • Zizou

I'm not sure, i think its safe to say that Atletic Bilboa and Sevilla and Atletico are safe.

  • last time i checked 4 or 5 teams were in contention

  • Zizou

ah that probaby explains it then, i guess you haven't checked in a while, Espanyol are in 8th place and their 4 points behind 7th, then the next team ( Mallorca) in 9th is like 7 points away.

  • Guess it isnt as intense as i thought lol

  • Zizou

In fairness to you, it was pretty close a month or so ago so maybe thats when you last looked.

  • I want Sociedad to stay up!! I have no idea how they got to this position! they were doing so well earlier in the season! I don't care for Zaragoza. I want Malaga to stay up. Almeria are already down. And I don't care much for hercules

  • i want Hercules to go down because they dont deserve to be here in the first place ( they fixed matches )
Malaga i want them to stay up just because they have pellegrini and also they have money they can buy good players next season and make the league more competitive
La Real i want them to stay up because of their history

  • Zizou

Yes likewise with Malaga, aswell as Racing and Getafe, just to see what they will do with their money. And yer Alemria are down of course lolz and yer I have enjoyed the Basque derby this season so would like that to continue.

  • addy

Heard Ali screwed Racing?...The players it seems are not getting paid!.

  • Zizou

Again!? weren't Racing the club last season or the season before who didn't get paid for months... that may have been Mallorca though.

  • Although with the win today for Zaragoza, it seems that one of Malaga, Racing or Getafe will be going down. Although as history pertains, two wins for each of those teams will keep them up. Usually 42 is the cut off point for relegation. only Betis got relegated with more than 42 points i believe.

  • Zizou

Well Depor are playing Atletico right now, again Depor are a team i'd like to go back to past glory days, but there attendance has been dreadful recentely so tbh I guess if someone has to go down i'd like it to be them aswell as Zaragoza.

Your right though its normally around the 40 mark thats safe.

  • Thats because they barely score! they have 27 goals all season, which is the lowest among all La Liga teams. They used to be great, but financial problems hit them hard

  • marttynz

quite interesting at the bottom...uninteresting at the top...

  • Zizou

yer far more intresting to watch the relegation battle, especially the emotions the fans have when their team stays up/goes down.

  • Mourinho surprised me with his presser , im glad he took the defeat like a man , blamed himself instead of the ref and the entire world , props to him

  • blamed himself???it's got to be a first....

  • nomz

true, i dont think he could of motivated himself for this game either, you cant blame the players or him thou, or can you . oh damn it cant think straight anymore

  • haha , well one thing i know for sure is that we didnt lose because Zaragoza are fantastic

  • marttynz

farca are losing....we should have capitalised on this....

  • Silvershaft

Our day could yet be made sweet(er). Barcelona are losing 2-1 with 8 minutes to go. I feel slightly ashamed to pride myself on another team's defeat, although this would almost make my day (better).

  • Alexw20
  • Pkj

Knock....knock...hey a barca fan over...was just checking where al those smoke was coming from inside your house...family fight huh! Keep it up...after the refs...the uefa...the gods of football...now blame eachother! :D

  • Oovantenishitz

Yeah we are burning Barca fanboys with their hands strapped to their face with duct tape, wanna join in???

  • addy

Can u repeat what u were saying now?....:P

  • Nyonya Mansoor

It's a spot on line up but I guess the team was not really in the mood for the game. I saw their training pictures and they were all looking subdued. I don't know..something's up. I feel that the team was not their usual self.

I'm indifferent of the result for no particular reason.

  • adwivedi

shameful loss today... we have been bad at home for much more than my liking... i hope we make up for it on tuesday. Any ideas of best formation and players for the next match?

  • Zizou

Think Khedira will be important if he is fit, and I hope we use at least 1 of Benzema or Higuain, sucks they haven't played in the recent classico's.

  • www

Mourinho has just said in press conference that the defeat is his fault because he couldn't motivate the players.

    -la liga news

    https://twitter.com/#!/laliga_...

  • TheAngelOfMadrid

Kaká and Benzema played well despite the loss and I really hope Mourinho gives them a start on Tuesday. The big question for me is: Özil or Di Maria? As much as I love their work-rate, they've been fairly ineffective against Barça and starting both of them again doesn't make sense to me. I'm more in favour of Di Maria tbh because he managed to get the better of Alves on multiple occasions and has a ton of stamina which we'll inevitably need if we're to turn the tie around.

  • chopplays

Ozil plays good when he has another ball player in MF rather than 2 mules.

  • labomba

Yeah he can certainly skin Alves but then does FA with the ball

  • Ozil played well at the bernabeu in the league and also in the CDR first half when we actually were attacking , in the CL he sucked because of the coach's tactic of just booting the ball up

  • TheAngelOfMadrid

If we do start Kaká then starting Özil could make us too centralized. Di Maria has more pace too and along with Ronaldo, he could provide us with two very useful outlets on the counter. I'd go for a 4-2-3-1; Casillas, Arbeloa, Albiol, Carvalho, Marcelo; Lass, Alonso; Di Maria, Kaká, Ronaldo; Benzema. We'd have Higuain and Özil lined up as impact-subs too. As for Adebayor, well, i'd rather not see him involved in the game at all. He's a good player in his own right but I think we're better off playing on the ground against Barça.

  • i want Di Maria to start but instead of Kaka , it really doesnt matter though i hope whoever starts bring their A game

  • Varunsuryakumar

the problem with real madrid is that they need some one like nuri sahin.....who can make the tiki taka happen......xabi alonso alone cannot happen coz he needs time on the ball and cant dribble past a defender to save his life !!! him and nuri will compliment each other very well

  • e_de_mex

tiki taka is dumb, what they need is players in the middle who can make passes, weather they are pressure or they have all the time in the world. the rest of the team needs to move without the ball and create outlets. today i saw alot of standing around and one defenders was covering 2. khedira, lass and gago are all the same type of player with minor differences, but they lack the passing skill when pressure, pepe looks like a better passer then those 3.

  • kaushiklakshman

lets buy xavi also. with him tiki taka will happen, also it won't happen for barca. while we are at it, lets get bale, and a couple of others too. surely we cant lose with all of that?

  • chopplays

You should get Banega. Alonso-Banega-Ozil would produce some fine passing.

  • Alexw20

    you are a genius!

  • hey hey hey, only Mou is the genius around here!

  • nomz

i say we buy the league and cup and all :) easier no

  • yes

  • krasis

This was a throw-away game anyway. Mourniho at this point is just experimenting with the players, as he should at this point. You can't get upset at this loss, the players are still probably thinking about the Champions League. Well that's what would be foremost on my mind if I was a player.

  • Laugh2

Except Mourinho already said that UEFA will not let Madrid win and it is a waste even trying.

  • krasis

Let's be honest, I hope Real goes through tuesday, but that would take a small miracle. The players and Mou know that.

When I said the players are still thinking about CL, I was reffering to the disappointment of losing el classico 3 in the manner that they did. I'm not even a hardcore madridista and I'm still pissed, so can you imagine how the players must feel.

  • Laugh

Another year in second place, another year of spending on big players plus another coach, hmm and all you get is a stinking cdr?

i love that you keep getting red cards under jose ;)

  • Ramses27

Kind sir/troll, allow me to direct you to the proper trolling areas on this blog. No need to waste space.

  • Laugh

    Nice one rugrat ;)

  • Laugh2

Great reply to something called Truth.

  • TheAngelOfMadrid

    TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO.

  • Vika

    ahhaahaa..
Pepe, Ramos, Kaka must go next season

  • Mourinho's Big ref rant coming in 1 . 2 . 3

  • Oovantenishitz

Why u are against Mourinho ???
He got us till the UCL semifinals, Won our first trophy in 2 years, his side played good football for most of the part.
U keep whining that he moans too much, he is too defensive.
Atleast he doesnt loose 4-0 to Alcorcon, he has authority and the players know they have to listen to him or be kicked out. He didnt have the power, but he grabbed it. Thats a strong coach, we needed someone like him.
U keep saying he doesnt have class, and cannot admit defeat, we should have coaches like Iker, who always wants to stay calm and turn the other cheek for Barca to keep slapping. Mourinho may moan but he gets our players fired up, the catalans are so fired up when they play us, we need to be aggressive too.
If u want good football with no results watch highlights or Villareal.

  • i actually want both good football and results :-)

"Mourinho may moan but he gets our players fired up, the catalans are so fired up when they play us, we need to be aggressive too. "

we only need to be aggressive on the pitch not outside of it , thats how Madrid has been for more than 100 years and it has worked for the most part .
