Szalai Wanted By Castellon

By: Corey | November 10th, 2009

szalai

Will we ever get a chance to see Adam Szalai in action for the first team? I have always wanted to see the big kid play with the first team and maybe make an impact, but it seems that he is not fancied by the Real technical staff and coach Manuel Pellegrini. It has not been revealed that Segunda side Castellon, who currently have Miguel Palanca on loan from the Castilla team for season, are interested in signing Szalai to replace their injured striker Tabares. Castellon, who were tipped for promotion this season, are languishing at the bottom of the Segunda table with only 7 points. Would that even be a good move for a player who has been tipped to be a leading striker in a top league in the near future?

My question of the week/weekend is whether or not you want to see Szalai given a run out in the first team before we sell him to another team. As one of the most promising players in the Castilla team, I think we should see what he is made out of with some first team appearances, but the early exit from the Copa means that just got a little more unlikely. Let me know what you think, and have a vote in the weekly poll.

What Do You Want Real To Do With Adam Szalai?(answers)

Loan him, or if the profit is good, then sell him. I don’t see this guy being any better than the likes of Portillo and Soldado. I would have definitely given those two more chances in the first team, but that chance has gone. This guy is too old to show drastic change.

This is my opinion anyways. Plus our strike force department is packed, and if it needs a player, then it is a Castilla player, unfortunately, he is playing for Sevilla :(

“It’s very difficult to be coach here,” Perez told Noticias Cuatro.

“The Real Madrid [that won] the first five European Cups changed coaches several times. This team always puts the emphasis on the players while others put it on their coaches.

“We are happy with the players that have arrived and with those who were here before, and it takes time to mould them into a team. I’m sure that Pellegrini will finish the season.

“It wouldn’t be a failure if we didn’t win a trophy. We are in the middle of building a new project. We’ll give it stability.”

    Perez interview.

Best top see what the lad is made of at another club on loan then bring him back if he performs well. HE will need a run in a team to see his true worth but just now he is going to get that at Real Madrid

I’d say sell with a buy-back. Next year we have Joselu coming in (he’s on loan with Celta at the moment) and I don’t know if he’s going to be put into the Castilla, first squad, or loaned out again. However, I don’t think they will put him with Castilla as he is coming from a Second Division team already so it would be a step down for him. Hopefully next year we’ll have Negredo coming back…(Ruud will most likely leave as I don’t see us offering him a new contract). Raul will probably stay for the final year of his contract. Valdano also said he expects Bueno to be re-purchased, but I think he will stay for the full 2 years to get experience.

Szalai should be sold because there is no way he is making it to the first team anytime soon given that we already have benzema , pipita , ruud and raul in the striker department so lets set him free
its a shame though because im sure he would do a better job than raul is doing at the moment ,
off topic but when does pablo sarabia turn 18 ? i cant WAIT to see him make the jump we need a left winger and he IS the answer

PS – Corey i found a cool site to watch all under17 world cup highlights here it is if you’re interested

I say loan him to a primera team and see how he performs. Personally i think Negredo would be more welcomed to the team he showed that he is a classy player. On another sad note id like to say that a top goalkeeper Robert Enke has died. He was suffering from depression for a while since his daughter passed away and decided to take his life. May he rest in peace. Its a really sad story if any of you have heard about the story today.

James: Very valid points, and while I did not forget about Bueno, I certainly did about Joselu. Joselu is a very good player already, and is one of the leading youth prospects in the country, and a hot striker in the Segunda right now along with Griezmann and his Celta partner Aaron Niguez (of Valencia). Bueno would be a very interesting option, and with Valladolid he has played as an attacking midfield as a substitute for Nazuet Aleman, so he is adding a new dimension to his game which may be important for him. When we look at our youth team right now, the strikers especially are very week in terms of first team potential, and I think the club realized that in getting Joselu for next year and having Negredo and Bueno available as well. It should be very interesting to see what the club does with all of three of them, and Szalai. Lets not forget Acuna has a call up to the first team as well…

Donovan: Its tragic news that Enke seems to have committed suicide. The Germany-Chila friendly has been called off because of his death, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and teammates. What I find shockingly ironic (and not haha irony, but very tragic irony) is that this article, http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=693123&sec=europe&root=europe&cc=5901
written by Uli Hesse-Lichtenberger just last week discuss depression and suicide in the German football world. Foreshadowing to say the least, and it sheds some light on the brutal business that is football.

his girlfriend left him, and she said he suffered from severe depression. This is a comment on that article you posted thought it was pretty good lolz
I don’t know. Ex-girlfriends are the source of a lot of cases for depression. I’m not saying they cause it, but it sure looks like that. That’s what happened to my brother. He got dumped by a girl who went out with some drug addict, he became depressed and he can’t go out very often without feeling sick. The problem is is that love is such an easy thing to fall into, but falling out of it is ten thousand times harder. People believe they’re in love so easily that there mind just goes along with it, like a trick. You can meet someone for a day and believe you’re in love with them, and if they don’t feel the same way, you can fall into the state of depression. I’ve seen this countless times. It’s all in your head, and it’s hard to get it out of. Love is a great thing for people but it’s like water, it’s always there, it’s easy to find but it doesn’t mean you can have it. Like the water actually has to be moving for it to be able to be drank, while falling in love with a girl/guy is easy, or believing you have is easy, doesn’t mean you can have that specific person.

For those of you which dont know the reason for his suicide and i dont know the exact story either but from what i know is that his wife and him lost their daughter in 2007 and since then he has been depressed. They recently adopted a child and i think being with this child was to much for him as it brought back lots of memories from his child that has passed away. Apparently the railway where he threw himself in front of the train is really close to the grave of his child. So just that alone gives alot of information to what was going on with him emotionally

It truly is tragic about the German goalkeeper. Very sad to hear about it.

I was just wondering what others thought about the Guti situation? It’s being said in the press that Guti and Valdano met today to try and resolve his absence in the last four call sheets. I’m fed up with him. It seems like he is expecting to be in the line-up rather than work for it. He’s great one game, and terrible the next. He’s 33 years old but his attitude is that of a 16 year old who doesn’t get what he wants. Also, in my opinion, Valdano should not be meeting with him at all. This has to remain between the coach and Guti. The coach has to have the authority to decide who plays and who doesn’t. If you undermine that authority, then you sit out until your attitude improves. Clearly Pellegrini is not comfortable with Guti yet, so he’s not playing. What’s the problem? If Guti doesn’t like it, then work harder…or leave. In any case, I don’t know how Guti would fit in to the team. Kaka is first choice, then we have Vdv, Granero and Guti. (Ronaldo, Marcelo and maybe Granero would be the pairing with Kaka). I would pick Vdv and Granero over Guti. After the Alcorcon game, the one thing I can say is that he’s not a reliable player. I would not want him in the squad for a elimination match. I wouldn’t know which Guti I would get and that’s too big of a gamble. When the pressure is already so high to always win, you don’t need one of the players acting like an idiot.

Cesar, the Madrid derby was not broadcast on any channel that I have. I subscribe to DirecTV in NY. DirecTV does not offer ESPN Deportes. I saw one league game on goltv and one league game on ESPN2. The CL and copa del rey games have been regularly broadcast on the channels available to me, but not league games.
