Thanksgiving Edition Grapevine

Everyone give thanks for the ability to stuff your face full of food, drink beer, watch football and take long naps all day long. And then wake up at 5 in the morning to go to numerous retail outlets and get great deals on XBOX 360s, iPod Touches and plasma tvs. Yes, thats my shopping list this Black Friday. But with the beautiful spread of food my mother provides for the family, there is also a great deal of ~~garbage~~ gossip on the transfer sites and papers. So here is some of the highlights while you eat turkey:

- The “blonde” aka Guti Haz has spoken of his desire to retire with Real. But he mentions something about the PL (what a stupid name, stick with the EPL dumbasses) and theres a story made out of it. And so says I:

“I want to retire here. I will play until my body tells me to stop. I want to renew my contract for two more years when the current one runs out (in 2010),” the 31-year-old said in an interview with Spanish radio station Onda Madrid.

‘If not, everybody knows that my intention to play in the Premier League. It is my second option. I like the cities of Liverpool and Manchester, but I would go to any team in London.’

‘I would like some relationship with football because it has given me my life,’ he said.

‘The first thing I will do is get a coaching licence, just in case. I’ve always said the best coaches and those who understand players better are those who have been players themselves.

‘I guess I would have a similar style to Schuster’s as coach. It is the best relationship that I have had with a coach. I have his respect and I know that I can slip up or have a bad game and it does not matter.

‘Nobody has treated me like he has. Before, replacing Guti was the easiest substitution to make.’

He said he wants to finish with Real, and I can guarentee he will. He said if he cannot do that then he wouldnt mind playing in England. The operative word being “if”. Silly English press, now that your pathetic national team didnt make it to the Euros, will your boring league be flooded with even more foreigners? I said that statement with a haughty French accent mind you.

As a sidenote, isn’t Guti’s wife/girlfriend/piece of ass looking rather old, like as old as my mom?

- Huleva’s on loan defender Martin Caceres is well aware of Real Madrid’s interest in him. He also knows Arsenal and Juve want him too. And he is drawing comparison to hack job/psychopath Paolo Montero, ex-Juve and Uruguayan international. Well isnt that special.

- Karim Benzema is only worth 17 millon according to tribalfootball.com. Yeah fucking right, hows 40 million sound?

- Real Madrid want Sao Paolo center back Breno to have a x-ray to determine how old he really is. To be honest, I dont blame them. Brazilian players falsify their age often. And Breno is a giant 18 year old. Actually, the picture I have of him was when he was 17. A monster. But I guess the kid, who is a cocky fuck from what I have read, does not want to do it, he thinks he shouldnt have to:

“If Real really want me,” said Breno, “I shouldn’t have to undergo any examinations. They can just try for another defender.

“As far as I’m concerned, there’s no problem. I am sure of my age.”

Well, if you dont want to play for the best team in the world then fine, go play for Bayern Munich. Ick.

- Sergio Ramos and Ruud are gonna get new contracts, Sergio Ramos getting paid 6 mill on par with Casillas but just below Raul. And Ruud is going to get the contract he will retire with. Good for them, they both deserve it.

-Julio Baptista is definately gonna be on his way out, or so the rumors indicate. Arsenal arent gonna taken him back. So Tottenham are interested. So is Man City. But Baptista wants to go to Roma. Because his BFF Cicinho is there. How many Brazilians want to leave Madrid to go to Rome?

- Real Madrid and MU are “battling” for Miguel Veloso. This January seems to be when the lad will be on the move.

- There was a dumb rumor that Real want to sell off Diarra because his position in the team is obsolete…? How the hell does that work? If he wasnt in the center of the park, our defense would look even more shakey. Pathetic rumor, Pedja did something smart and denied this ouright.

- Jesus Navas just signed a new contract. Crap.

- Breno’s buyout clause is 12 million. He is 18. Ridiculous, but I guess Fiorentina met it.

- Coutinho is waiting to move to Real. Also, Hig’s is seen by Schustie as the understudy to Ruud. But Josey Alitdore is suppose to be the understudy. Oh well.
