The Title Comes Home Today

By: Corey | May 4th, 2008

So I have been a bad blogger recently. I have not posted in two weeks or so, and I am sorry, I have been very busy lately with getting a job (I got a sick job working for United Technology in Hartford!) and I have been doing alot of studying for finals and moving shit out of my apartment on campus and into my new house. Its been a busy few weeks, albeit I did get the chance to throw a few back with my friends, but I have not been responsible enough to post anything for all of you readers. So I aplogize.

Obviously today’s game at the Reyno Navarra is the title decider. If Real wins, the title is theres, and if they draw its still theres. Vilarreal is winning 2-0 at half as I write this, so they didnt lay down and die, but that is of no matter now. Real needs a win against Osasuna to march on to Cibeles! I cant wait.

Game is at 3pm eastern time, I will be watching it with my Brazilian friend Chris while studying, I got a classroom with a projector so the game is on a big screen. But most importantly, I will keep up this page, so please comment away during the game. I cant liveblog for the life of me, but I will comment if other people do. Lets hope for a win and another Liga title! HALA MADRID HALA MADRID!!!!!

Real Team Sheet:

Goalkeepers
Casillas, Dudek, Codina

Defenders
Ramos, Cannavaro, Pepe, Heinze, Marcelo, Torres, Metzelder, Drenthe, Salgado

Midfielders
Diarra, Guti, Sneijder, Robinho, Robben, Baptista, Balboa, Gago

Forwards
Raúl, Van Nistelrooy, Soldado, Higuaín, Saviola

I expect Diarra for this game, its common sense. Ramos, Pepe, Canna, Heinze seems reasonable given the nature of the Reyna de Navarra. Marcelo should ultimately be sacrificed because we need to keep it compact at the back, we will be under immense pressure from the Navarrians. Guti is a late scratch actually, he couldnt recover from his sprained left knee, while Metz is still to regain fitness. Ruud will start on the bench. So the only other question is, do you go with the three pronged attack of Raul, Robinho and Robben or do you play Higuain for a 4-4-2 with Sneijder pushed slightly to the right? We will have to see, I am hoping for the latter, two strikers will give the Osasuna backline more to think about. It will also be interesting to see how Javi Garcia measures up against our midfield, although I am pretty sure he cant play in this game.

As for Osasuna, its expected they play with one striker, probably Portillo will get the nod over Sola and Dady. Javier Flaño could start as left-back, which would force Azpilicueta into the midfield. Delporte and Margairaz are injured and unavailable. Again, I think Javi Garcia will have to sit this one out, so Nekouaman will probably start with Plasil out wide.

I think we can win this game, we are in great form and we have a title to wrap up, so lets get ready to celebrate another title! If only I could be at the Cibeles!!!

HALA MADRID!

Just imagine this next weekend with Barca on the field!
