These Sort of Things Shouldnt Happen
By: Corey | August 29th, 2007Im not really in the mood for transfer stuff, I think our minds should be with the family of Anotnio Puerta.
The Real Madrid community stands behind the family as well as the club of Sevilla FC and the city of Seville. Here is a few things Raul had to say about the tragic event:
Raúl: “We’re all so sorry. The entire team is thinking about the family”
The captain of Real Madrid wanted to express the thoughts of the players and coaching staff of the First Team, several of whom coincided with Antonio Puerta either on Sevilla FC or the various divisions of the Spanish national team.
Real Madrid captain Raúl González Blanco expressed his sorrow for the passing of Sevilla international Antonio Puerta: “It’s a shame, a huge loss for Spanish football, a player that had an extraordinary future in store who had already made his national team debut, a real shame. It’s the news we never wanted to hear, but that finally reached us. The entire squad and the coaching staff had been closely monitoring the situation since the incident first took place, and the tragic outcome has deeply affected us. A friend and a great professional of the football world has left us, and from here at Real Madrid, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his teammates, his club, and everyone in Sevilla who loves and admires him.”
Heart felt words from the captain. Ramon Calderon is representing Real Madrid at Puertas funeral along with Pedja, Raul and Guti, and former Sevilla team mates Sergio Ramos, Julio Baptista and Javier Saviola.

Because I think its shameful and also distrubing that there are 100s of videos online of Puerta collapsing during the Getafe game I refuse to put one up. Keep Puerta in your thoughts please.
Ok, heres a few transfer rumors, no jokes though sorry.
- Marcelo may be loaned back to Flu, to play more. I think Valladolid would be a better spot but whatever
- Real Madrid’s striker Roberto Soldado (22) is observed from Benfica but also, Lyon, Tottenham, West Ham and Deportivo. Love the grammar on tmw.com
- Gabriel Heinze will get some minutes this weekend. Shocker
- Jose Antonio Reyes is unhappy that Real Madrid spent 24 million on Robben and 30 million on Pepe. Well buddy, you didnt play particularly well for us last year, but you were only 4 or 5 mill. I would have taken Reyes but oh well
- Thats it, slow day. Later

I’m also not in a mood for transfer stuff, but how is Soldado? Any chance that Lyon might get him? I think whoever Lyon buy, they will have to pay over the market price since everyone knows we need a striker.
