Two Young Talents

By: Corey | October 2nd, 2008

As I was peddling through Real videos at home last night I found these two little gems. YouTube highlights of young players are a dime a dozen these days, I think I saw 3 videos for every Barca youth cadet! But seeing as how I try to bring you coverage of our academy along with the first teams, I though it would be nice to take a look at two very talented youngster currently in the Juvenile squads. Enjoy!

Alex Samaniego

Ruben Molero

Pretty impressive, even for two very young players. We will make sure to monitor their progress in the coming years. In other news, with the ACL tear that new signing Fran Rico suffered two (maybe three) weeks ago, Real has signed a replacement for him. That replacement is the supremely talented Javier Acuna from Cadiz. Acuna is a 20 year old Paraguayan striker who has been with Cadiz since 2004. He has played 22 games for them, scoring 2 goals, which is pretty impressive seeing as how he was on loan to Salamanca last year, so he had 22 appearance when he was 17 and 18. He made 6 appearance for Salamanca last year, scoring once.

So we welcome Javier to the Real Madrid family! His talents will help an already lethal striking core of Szalai, Palanca, Bueno and Edouard Kabamba. Pretty good for the third division! Acuna will take a little time to adjust to his new surroundings, but I do warn that while he is a very powerful striker, he is not a natural finisher, so do not look for him to score a bucket load of goals, but he will provide space for others to use.

Sticking with Castilla, they are currently top of the table in Group 2 of Segunda B. Congratulations to them, as they push hard to make it back into La Segunda this year. They beat Aguilas FC 4-1 September 24th, to remain unbeaten thus far. They will take on AD Alcorcon on Sunday, so lets hope for a good result there. Thats all folks!

It is very difficult to get information on our young players. Most of the sites out there are in Spanish and i for one cant understand it. Do u know of any english sites that has some information on castilla or other youth teams? Also it is pity about the injury on Fran Rico hope he recovers well. On Javier Acuna i think he is very talented but according to Cadiz his previous team, they say he has not progressed as they had hoped for. Anyway its nice to see Castilla doing so well, hope they get promoted this year.

I dont want to brag, but I am probably the only English Castillia information source, everything is in Spanish, so if you cant read it, might want to learn. I forced myself to start picking up the language again, obviously for Real info but also because my new sorta girlfriend is half italian/half spanish and doesnt like to speak in English.

Awesome to see the level of ability even at this age. Samaniego even moves like Guti and Raul

Okay, on the subject of the Castilla – what the hell is going on with Granero? I’ve been following Getafe closely this season, and he hasn’t gotten a start yet. He wasn’t even on the bench during the Bilbao fixture. I can’t find any information on him, so can anyone tell me why he isn’t getting more playing time?

Alex Samaniego looks classy, but i doubts he can make it. it seems like he is pretty slow. (but i’m not so sure coz it just a clip.) and i’m afraid that one day this two may leave us as Mata and David moreno did. i don’t know what’s really happened inside but it hurts to see our prospect youngster go elsewhere.
