Who's playing on the left? Guti is on the right, so is Robben and Gago, Baptista in the middle. So are we relying on Torres coming forward?

John,

I lived outside of Madrid and went to a bunch of Getafe games. I'm a Sevillista, but Getafe are my other team.

Signorino, Diaz, Gavilan and Pallardo are injured for Getafe, meaning three of their best players are out plus De la Red and Granero. And I think its a general consensus that everyone likes Getafe, they are a small side punching above their weight and you like to see that.

My biggest worry about Getafe is their corners. It's true that they don't score a lot of goals, but even truer that a good proportion of them come from set-pieces and corners. Lots of goals headed in. And we all know how bad the Merengues are at defending in those situations. The 'good' news is that one of the players who best knows how to use his head is Granero, who won't be playing because of the (somewhat dodgy) above mentioned 'Morientes clause.'

Another note: though Corey is most likely right that David Cortes will be starting at right back, if Getafe go down in goals, I wouldn't be suprised if they bring in Contra, who is an effective attacking fullback, and who adds an extra dimension to their attack that could give Madrid a lot of trouble. Or it could allow Madrid to slip behind the defense and pound in the final nails. We'll see.

I should also note that this is the only match of the season where I feel just a tiny bit torn. Obviously I'll be supporting (vigilantly) Madrid, but Getafe is my #2. They're a plucky side with tons of spirit. If Madrid were, say, 20 points up on the table, I would probably (forgive me) be cheering for Geta.

Still. HALA MADRID!!!

The whole Aragones-Raul presser was a bunch of BS. Raul needs to let sleeping dogs lie. Focus on the club and get a life.

This mini Madrid derby is going to be a tough one. All defense, breaking up the midfield and parking the bus in the penalty area. It should be a rather dull, tough match and might get a little nasty.

Vamanos Merengues!
