Looks like Soldado is official. Good luck to him with the Azulones. Why would De La Red want to leave? To get playing time of course. I really hope Schuster puts him to use this year, but somehow I am skeptical. I agree with 9, that we are lacking another striker but we shall see. I hope we don't sign C-Ron that would kill the harmony in the team.

R Madrid is using the academy to sell and keep a couple that look reliable. Its arguable that other teams may develop better leaders for their respective teams but lets not forget casillas, raul, guti..they've won titles, homework done. Now Real is the team with the biggest selling "cantera", in other words Real is the top of the list at fabricating players.

A team like Real is obsessed with achieving titles via fast lane, its expected from them and the smallest crisis will echo every corner of the bernabeu. The management cannot concieve planning a slow growth program, instead they keep signing until a fine squad is assembled. Who is to be held accountable?-F Capello, he whipped the team back and shape and what was outstandadly bold is how the players recovered the passion for their jerseys, it was a complete different story compared to the three previous years. Schuster has inhereted an already growing project which he's polished a bit but he'll still need a couple players to fight for the CL. Robinho and Robben could be paired up in the case RVN is injured and Real plays only one finisher. For this, Schuster needs another sole striker, higuain is best positioned when coming as a second striker from the right and Raul can vary his position around but its the team lacks another good striker who can subsitute the dutch. Gago is looking better and diarra has finally consolidated himself after being a possible transfer in the front pages for the last couple seasons.

Garay will come in next season when Cannavaro goes back home, at that point we'll need to look into another defensive leader...buts thats another topic yet not to worry about.

One thing I never understood during the whole 'Title Drought' was why they kept with the same losing formula. I mean how is it that such a big club like Real Madrid won't put their faith in their young talent?

Youth Academy's are an investment, and they just seem to be alienating them.
