Would You Follow Me On Twitter?
By: Corey | September 2nd, 2009I ask this question because I have been contemplating it recently. I dont want to sound like the guy who discovered the internet, but I did sign up for Twitter last July when it was still an unknown platform. I read a Wired.com article about it and thought it was interesting, but I never found much use after I started using it and deleted my account. I still do not like Twitter, as I think its a series of useless posts from people who desperately need attention, like to spread false information or have nothing better to do with their lives. Except for Shaq’s Twitter feed, his is awesome. None the less, with the constant barrage of news involving Real Madrid these days, it is hard for my to keep up through blogging. Twitter may give me a quicker way to disseminate information to everyone on Real.
It might fit in nicely with the traditional blogging and the CoverItLive blogs that I already do here on the site. I was thinking that between Twitter and maybe an RSS feed and a Facebook fans page, we could get more real-time information to readers when a lengthy blog post was not needed, say for transfer speculation or mid-week interviews. Im even more adverse to using Facebook just because I like to keep my information private, but we can talk about that as well. Let me know what you think about following a Real Madrid Twitter feed or starting a Real Madrid fan page on Facebook from me in this poll. But please leave comments, suggestions or concerns or all three here, as I am looking in to new ways to improve the blog and the experience for everyone. Like I said, I hate Twitter, but if enough of you want it, I will do it.
What Would You Like To See Added to the Real Madrid Blog?(polling)
Also, as its the international break, I am going to take a break for the rest of the week. I will be back with a match preview next Thursday or Friday. The more breaks I can take, the better with my hectic schedule, but it gives me time to think of some stuff to write about beyond the normal fair. If you have ideas on posts you would like to see, you may also leave those suggestions in the comments. Adios.

Corey, it’s a valuable tool. For the new space, we do Twitter updates and have a Facebook fan page. Every click helps, right?
I may even Tweet live from El Clasico (yes, I have a ticket!).

I heard that higuain played well in that game scoring three goals and providing an assist. All that from the left winger position.

Imagine if FIFA tried to tell Perez he couldn’t transfer players for 2 windows…

Guys, I might sound goofy but whats Twitter?
I know facebook but dont have an account.Corey, i would love it if you could do Podcast but its probably very time consuming. As a commuter – 3,5 hours a day – I have fallen in love with football podcasts (listen to other casts also).. But there is no English speaking podcast that is devoted solely to Real Madrid. There is a couple in Spanish but I cant make much sense of it..
Its a suggestion that you should at least consider. If your podcast would become as good as your blog is then you should be able to pull a huge crowd.. Just a thought..
Bassam, I also read that Higuain was on fire playing against Castilla. Remember when Robben started playing on the “wrong” side (right), he started cutting in and shoot or create some kind of havoc. I reckon its the same effect on Pipita. Capello played him only as a right midfielder. Schuster and Juande never tried to put him on the left flank. He´s got one hell of a bazooka so if he just can get his aim right he should score plenty from the left hand side.
Hala Madrid!!!
PS. I hate international break!!!!

As for which one should you follow, i would suggest facebook. I say that since i use facebook regularly. Plus it would be nice to expand the blogs popularity some more, and i do believe facebook will do just that… Although, Coreys posts are doing an awesome job at that anyways.

Read an interesting sneijder interview this morning , apparently inter are stronger than us and somewhere in the interview the reporters asked him which teams are strongest in europe he said ” barcelona , united , arsenal and inter ” lol so we’re not part of the strongest teams according to little wesley , bitter much ? Me think so
Anyways back to the subject , a podcast would be the bomb!

fair enough but when was the last time inter went past the round of 16 ? if they’re considered one of the strongest then we sure as hell should be considered as well
and no signing players alone doesnt make you a top team but even bubu the fool would recognize that real madrid is a top teamPosted from

Inter now look very convincing, signing well and cheap. They needed a Sneijder type play maker and a strong centre forward and they got both. Plus Maurinho won´t take any crap, they were awesome in the derby and Madrid still look unconvincing as a team.
Let´s hope time will tell in our favour
Sneijder definitely wants to stir things up, as he said that Pelligrini has no authority and the club treats the players like kids
Just waiting now to see what little gems Robben comes up with.Posted from

labomba i dont know i thought we’ve been getting better each week well at least on the offensive side of things , save for the dortmund game i dont think we’ve won any game undeservedly we’re not clicking in all department yet but we’ve out played everyone we’ve played so far save for dortmund , even depor who scored 2 goals on us didnt have many chances against us
inter did look good saturday but remember that the milan they were playing is the worst in years and have only won one of their pre season games
anyways time will tell who is betterPosted from

Kyle, you can never right off Real Madrid. Yes we didn’t win anything last year, but lets not forget we didn’t have the best of luck last year, especially in injuries. When palanca plays in the clasico, then you know that the team is suffering from injury problems. We were not as good as Barca last year, but then again, no one was as good as Barca. Plus, lets not forget that we won two consecutive La Ligas with the second coming in a very impressive manner. That is why we are a top club my dear friend.

Bassam, I think we won the Super Copa de Espana last year by beating Valencia!

hahaha, that’s right Deepak, thank you for the reminder. Doesn’t Kyle support Valencia? lol

A team is not judged by one game my friend. That season we won the league with probably around 4 or 5 games remaining (not sure to be honest). That is pretty impressive in my books.
Question, do you consider Valencia a top team then?
