You Shit the Bed This Time Pedja

By: Corey | August 31st, 2007

Im not gonna write a long drawn out post about how I dont like how the final day of the transfer window is going. We all know Javi Garcia was sold to Osasuna, with a 2 year buy back clause I assume. Valdo, Juanfran, Soldado have all gone to Osasuna and done well, so lets hope Javi Garcia has a bright future their. But will he ever return to Madrid, nah.

Reminds me of a time in highschool where every Sunday night me and my girlfriend “prepared” for the school week with some extra curricular activities, ok thats to much never mind. Point is, the song hits me deep.

Now we have this “We have to sell 4 to get one bullshit”??? Since when did we need to get rid of four midfield prospects to and possibly Julio Baptista to get Dani Alves, a right back? Does this make any sense goal.com? I dont think so. Lets see, Granero and Balboa and De La Red just signed long term contracts this summer, so why would they now be sold? De La Red will not leave, neither will Balboa. Granero and Adrian could leave, but only on loan, or back to Castilla. Julio Baptista said he doesnt want to leave, and despite the shady dealings of agents, I take him at his word. Therefore, either pay 40 mill for Dani Alves (so not worth it, a whole other rant right there) or ’suffer’ with Sergio Ramos, Miguel Torres and Michel Salgado as are only right back options. What a pity, Schuster has no depth in any position….

If Schuster really needs more players he should pay for them himself. He already has set himself up to be a huge failure if he doesnt win alot of games by A. Insisting on all of these expensive buys and B. Declaring his team will play with style and panache, but in preseason it looked like they lacked an tactical knowledge. To me these two things mean he either puts up or shuts up pretty quickly. Calderon may be patient like he was with Capello, simply because he will look bad if he fires him early on and spent all that money and wasted all that energy courting Schuster last year. A Catch 22 if you will.

-Chelsea and Madrid have made last minute bids for Ricardo Quaresma. Because Real Madrid needs him…

- http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=54695 Everyone believes in the Raul again, I think he can come back to true form this season, already has 1 goal. Lets hope, so RVN doesnt have to score all the goals. Ohh, and theres this guy names Sneijder who can bomb them in from 30-40 yards out too

- http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=54688 BAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Atletico you silly bastards, if this is true I truely pity you. Everton? Yeah, right place for a moody genius who never plays defense, exactly what I thought would be his next stop.

This is about the CL draw. I was so happy that Lyon wasn’t drawn with us. But the three we’ve got are no pushovers. Werder Bremen maybe without Klose but they’re still a very good team, they play good ground football. And away to Lazio will be very tricky. but, I’m still fairly confident Real will top the group but there’re some tricky matches.

I really really hope we don’t get Alves. We dont need him. And I also hope Soldado remains with us, RVN cant score like this every season. Soon somebody has to take over, may be from next season. And we can’t keep buying every season.

Quaresma is good. I was wondering why we didn’t go for him earlier. But coming in so late with so many new players in the team, it may not be the best idea.

I can’t wait until the transfer window closes. Finally that wonderful time where you just make due with the players you have, everyone relaxes and the peices start falling into place.

But in the closing hours, here are my last minute transfer wishes:

-No more new players. Not Alves. Not Quaresma. Just stop already.

-Balboa Stays and gets played (hence, no Quaresma). He was great in the preseason, needs more field time, and is one of the players that could bear the title “the future of Madrid.” Same could be said about De la Red, but…

    - De la Red goes out on loan. He’s not going to get playing time but needs it. Idealy he goes to Osasuna and is back in a year. Also loan out Grenaro and Adrian.

    - Are we really going to keep loaning out Baptista to other leagues where he’s not going to get Spanish experience? Word on the street is that AC want a 1.5 million, year long loan, with an 8 million option to sign. I think, for Baptista’s sake, it’s time Madrid shits or gets off the pot. No more loans. Either he stays or he goes. I’d prefer he stayed, but does he get much time here? sigh.

    - I’d rather see Saviola go than Soldado, but why keep both?

    - Sell Gago.

-Marcelo on loan to Valladolid. I want Marcelo to get more experience, I want it to be in Spain, and I secretly want Valladolid to do well in La Liga.

Anyways, a lot of these opinions are in line with Corey’s, but hardly any of my friends watch the beautiful game, and i just need to get this stuff off my chest. So hey: Corey, Steve, everybody else - what are your last minute transfer wishes?

Does anyone have any idea when and if I will be able to watch Real Madrid on TV this season? Will this legal battle really last?

Well Steve your wishes didnt come true. Gago stays and De La Red goes… not a fan of that at all. Granero and Adrian on loans isnt bad, but Real rarely calls back there loaned players, they just buy new ones to replace them. So I cast a doubtful eye on those moves as well. No Dani Alves or Quaresma, Balboa stays as well as the Beast, and the Rabbit wasnt gonna leave so early, but if he doesnt score his massive wage will be shipped off to Monaco or something, trust me, little patience with an ex-Barca player.
