Benzemaaaaa. Say It. Just Rolls Off The Tongue!
One very happy blogger here. Benzema has been signed, its official. Read more about it here and here. Both the Real Madrid an Lyon websites have made it official as well.
Real Madrid C.F. and Olympique Lyonnais have reached an agreement for the transfer of Karim Benzema, contingent upon the player’s medical examination and the signing of his contracts.
The 21-year old striker will sign a six-year contract with Real Madrid.
Discuss amongst yourselves while I go run to the top of a mountain and scream in all of my excitement.
PS: Im still on vacation

I swear! With this team we’d be scoring 3 goals a game minimum! Imagine the Clasico! Wow How many stars in one game.

Real will still lose to Barca seeing as those guys have played together for a number of years now.

good signing…we would need to retain negredo..sell huntelaar if a good offer comes for him(loaning him out is also an option)…looking forward to the next signing..let it be more galactic
..bring zhirkov as left back…Guys, what do you think of sneijder in a double pivot position with lass in the middle(4-2-3-1 line up)…i feel he can do gr8 damage when he comes back to his bestPosted from

Yeah Andres I agree with your line-up more or less, mine is:
Casillas
Sergio Ramos Pepe Albiol Arbeloa
Ronaldo Lass Alonso Kaka
Higuain BenzemaKaka in the “Zidane” role, but really a free role, similar to Ronaldo. And Higuain and Benzema together – wow!

————-Benzema/Negredo/Higuain———-
——Higuain/Robben—Kaka/Raul——Ronaldo/Granero–
———-Sneijder/guti—–Lass———
–LB/Marcelo—–Albiol/garay–Pepe—–SergioIf they get Ribery, i dont know where higuain would fit into this system…(and he has to start come what may)

John, I am laughing my head off at your letter to CR96… and feel exactly the same way. Andres & John, I had the same thing in mind in regards to our possible options…
Option 1 (4-2-3-1)
San Iker
Ramos-Pepe-Albiol-LB (Arbeloa?)
Lass-Diarra (or Gago/Sneijder or Xabi Alonso if he comes)
Higuain-Kaka-CR96
Benzema*Robben 1st Option sub for the attacking midfield and *Negredo 1st Option sub for Benzema
Option 2 (4-4-2)
San Iker
Ramos-Pepe-Albiol-LB (Arbeloa?)
CR96-(Diarra 1 or 2)-(Gago/Sneijder or Xabi Alonso-Kaka
Benzema-Higuain*Kaka drifts in ala Zizou
*Robben as optional sub for the wing positions to push CR96 forward or Kaka to form a 4-4-1-1
*Negredo 1st Option sub for either striker.I like the thought of having Arbeloa in the squad, I’m just not sure he’s the best person to have at LB. From my recollection of Zhirkov from the Euros, he’s a good LB, just that we’re no here near getting him as Chelsea are the favorites.

assuming that arbeloa is the only signing left:
………iker
ramos pepe albiol (arbeloa?)
ronaldo lass gago kaka
…higuain benzemasubs:
……….dudek
torres garay metzelder marcelo
sneijder diarra garcia robben
……raul negredoi would have liked to retain granero obviously and sell sneijder, but thats not likely. alonso could come but diarra or preferably gago need to go then. there’s no space for van nistelrooy, but he wants to stay, so its all questionmarks there. definitely sell heinze, vdv, drenthe. robben or sneijder also need to go to bring in some cash.

Lass with Gago is just too weak a midfield, as demonstrated last season. Lass with Alonso will be much stronger.
Oh, and Ribery now says he wants to go to Madrid. I just don’t want him, because there is no need for him and because his arrival would definetely mean a spot on the bench for Pipita.

of course id rather alonso (he’s better and spanish) than gago, but i dont think his signing is necessary anymore. while i heavily criticised gago last year, it was mainly his partners in midfield and attack that let us down (i.e. sneijder, guti, vdv, drenthe, raul, etc.), so gago had to both get the ball back and be a “playmaker” too. guess what, kaka and ronaldo will do just fine building up the game, and a partership of gago/lass/diarra will be able to focus on defending and simple distributing.
no need for ribery, in fact signing him would be stupid and possibly disastrous. i dont think perez is interested in him anymore, it might be just zidane pushing for himPosted from

Everyone wants to go to Real Madrid now, everones wants to become a part of the project! :S First Benzema says he wants to leave for Real, then Ribery, fuck, can’t w8 to watch Real-Barcelona this year.

what are valdano and perez playing at?! We dont need Ribery !!! What sense is there in just having all the best attacking players in the world. This is what happens when you have too many advisors with you. Kaka and Ronaldo were needed because of the marketing, Zidane wanted a more French flavour to the team and so he convinced Ribery, and with Villa out, Benzema to come over. And since Perez said he would bring more Spaniards in the team, and with the 6+5 rule coming up soon, they need Xabi Alonso, Silva, Arbeloa. Meanwhile, players bought by the previous regime dont want to leave since they have such exhorbitant salaries which no one else will pay in these times.
Truly, even for a long time Real fan like me, this is getting far beyond ridiculous. why dont we just make 2 or 3 teams and have them play a money spinning tournament all on their own instead of taking part in La Liga or the Champs Lg. Maybe then we could save ourselves from going into financial meltdown…Posted from

and what’s becoming pretty clear is that Pellegrini has absolutely no say in making the team, and the quarry boys can pretty much go to hell in the next few years.

Benzema is a good signing but the team is getting very unbalanced. A player like Alonso is needed in the midfield to balance things up and some better defenders are required but I guess the idea is just out score rather than try not to concede.

valid points nihit..clean up needs to begin…i really hope pellegrini has a say from now on..we need a solid defense and a creative midfielder

Lol I Want gago gone to be honest how many more seasons do we have to wait for that kid to fufill his potential ? Might as well do that with one of our own canteranos , no ?
As for ribery I want him to come not just for signing sakes but because he will bring something different to the team he is the best wide player in the world hands down in my book he is like a iniesta with pace and a powerful shot and he is very good team player but then glass man will have to leave
And we’d have to sacrifice a striker and play with a 4 2 3 1 always unless someone is injured , can’t we just play with 12 on the field god dammitPosted from

i am really ambivalent over this signing.benzema has huge potential, yes but so does pipita.and for all his waywardness in front of the goal earlier this year he has exploded on to the scene. i have lost count of the number of times higuain has pulled us out of a tight spot. and every match he plays in,he plays his heart out. even in those matches after el clasico,he cudnt be blamed.if they bench him in favor of the galacticos,it wud be a very sad event indeed.

Dunno what you’re ‘YUSSSing’ about – Benzema could be the kiss of death for Higuain’s career at Madrid.

more likely the death for negredo’s madrid career, and perhaps the start of a great striking partnership between higuain and benzema? im afraid though that they might be too similar, but as long as they score 40+ goals between them its all good

I have only seen Benzema in a few Champions League and France games. What type of player is he? Is he more of a target man or the slashing support player? From what I have seen, he looks to be a small target forward. He seems to me like he could be the support for Negredo or get support from Higuain. I can see any combination of the three. Raul is going to kill Higuain’s growth the most.

Either way higuain’s madrid career was gonna be in danger because even if we didn’t get benzema we would have got villa or some other top class striker
I agree with drew , raul is gonna be the pain in higuain’s assPosted from

HURRAY im on marroco and couldnt stop myself about writting a few words. YEAH Allrighty good work now bring some spaniards. have fun guys

If Villa had come, his age and capability would likely have benched Raul.
But Benzema has similar level experiecne and identical age that pitches him directly at Higuain.
Negredo doesn’t stand a chance even beofre he came back – he was simply bought as a bagaining chip.Posted from

Congrats guys, his presence will be sorely missed in L1, but what can we do right? C.Ron and Karim conbination would be really interesting to see. He’s a great player, take care of him
